Interesting to see what MSG decides to do here. I tweeted John Giannone and MSG Network's official twitter, so we'll see what they say. (likely nothing) I checked my EPG and there are no Ranger games at all listed yet.

I tweeted Giannone a few hours ago but he didn't reply.

I normally don't get angry about things like this but if they air a Knicks regular season game over a Rangers playoff game I'd be a little ticked. Especially since they're pushing the playoffs like crazy on the network with commercials every two seconds.

Looks like everything will be on the primary MSG channel. http://rangers.nhl.com/club/schedule.htm

April 18th: Both teams play.

Here in Canada playoffs are an extra special time for me as every game is in HD. This year for the first round CBC picked up both Canadian teams with their first picks in the broadcast draft between they and TSN. Can't go wrong with either but I personally like TSN better. It just sucks that the first round will obviously be Senators oriented on Hockey Night in Canada for the causual hockey fan who wants to cheer for the Canadian team. Although TSN would undoubtedly satisfy this, I find them to be less homers and I feel they actually like the Rangers.

Yes, but the schedule says MSG, not MSG 2, for the Rangers. That schedule normally shows whether it's MSG, MSG+, or MSG 2.

Just checked my guide, looks like Knicks are on MSG and Rangers are on MSG+ for that game. Good enough since MSG+ is typically available in all areas MSG is (and HD)

No, that's not good enough. That just shows how pathetic MSG markets the Rangers. It's a ****ing playoff game and they decide to show a regular-season Knick game over it.

This. And if the Devils were playing, they'd have priority on MSG+, so a Rangers playoff game would be on MSG2. Beyond sickening.

Don't really see it that way, everyone who gets MSG gets MSG+, which it's on is just semantics. Devils don't play so the Rangers will be on MSG+.

Only reason I would be frustrated is if they actually got pushed to an overflow channel.
