The captains drafted in the first round are:

Ryan Getzlaf
Jarome Iginla
Eric Staal
Jonathon Toews
Rick Nash
Brenden Morrow
Dustin Brown
Mikko Koivu
Zach Parise
Chris Pronger
Shane Doan
Sidney Crosby
Joe Thornton
Vincent Lecavalier
Dion Phaneuf
Henrik Sedin
Alex Ovechkin
Andrew Ladd

I tried finding which of those were captains in juniors but it was harder than a simple google search so I'll try later haha

One could make a "character issues" claim for like, half of those guys. The truth is that when you're drafting a teenager, this is a very hard thing to judge. It's easy to see the guys on the poles, but most players fall somewhere in between, and it's rarely a static trait.

So far only 2 series are going to 6 games and both are in the Easten Conference unless San Jose can comeback and win tonight.

The Blues look really well constructed for the playoffs. They make some tough things look pretty easy. So sound with the puck with a lead.

San Jose is now on the brink of elimination. This is a real shame for a team that had a Cup Contender for so many years and failed to get to the cup final. I put most of the blame on Doug Wilson. A real shame there as well since he is the original face of hockey in the Bay Area and transfromed that team from when it was losing during his playing days to the days they became winners under him as the GM. Looking back at it too I felt bad for Ron Wilson to get fired from that team despite giving his all from a GM that kept making mistake after mistake with the roster since the choke to the Flames in 04 and now that has now comeback to haunt this team to where a rebuild maybe nesscessary in the next season or 2.

With all due respect for what you have done for hockey in Northern California Mr. Doug Wilson, it is time for you to go. But not too soon for the sake of the Coyotes.

If the Coyotes do make it to the 2nd round, after seeing how well St. Louis is playing, I'd rather face Nashville in the 2nd round and have both the Blues and the Kings beat the **** out of each other.

There's no easy 2nd round option, but not like there was in the 1st round. Assuming we win this series (knock on wood!), it looks like our matchup would be Nashville. Honestly, if I had to pick any team but my own, Nashville would be my favorite for the Cup going into this thing.

Outside of Nashville's top Defensive line of Weber and Sutter, the rest of their D seems shaky at times and their offense is about even with ours. St. Louis looks solid all around.

No way, their offense is way better than ours. They were 8th this year in goals for and that was without Radulov for most of the year. We let in fewer goals, but not by much. We're the better 5-on-5 team, but they got the best PP in the league. Hanzal and Korpikoski will have trouble staying healthy when they're facing Weber slap shots.

Good point as well, however it appears that facing Nashville is inevitable at this point seeing both LA, Nashville, and St. Louis are up 3-1 in their series as well.

We still need one more guys. I'm not counting our eggs before they hatch. Let's finish this on Saturday.

Neither am I but my comments were more in relation to how the other teams are doing.

I'm not saying we're doomed, in fact, I think, it would be a total toss-up. I think it would be a totally fun series too, but maybe not for the people on the main boards.

Also, our white-out might actually be completely white.

Nashville fans in general are usually completely nice so it's not a big deal.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. There's still game 5, 6, or 7 to win. It may not sound difficult, but this club hasn't managed to win a fourth playoff game since . . . 1987.

P.S. That was also the only time this club has ever won 4 playoffs games. In 1987, they made it to the second round, only to be swept. In 1985, they made it to the second round (best of five), only to be swept.

Please, all of you, I'm begging you: STOP IT. You're giving me flashbacks of '99. We were up 3 games to 1 against the blues in the first round, with home ice advantage - and lost game 7 in OT. I was there, and it hurt so, so bad.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
