Sucks that it starts on Friday, since I have to work in the morning. I guess I will be going to bed super early Friday night, and get up at 230 to watch the game. Sunday is fine with me though, since I dont work on Monday because its the day after Greek Easter. which is normally a week after Easter in the States.
Lovin' all the Devils and other teams fans who think it's going to be like a vacation where they can cruise to round 2 in the playoffs. Reminds me a lot about where people placed us before the season started, 15th in Eastern, no chance of competing with the big boys.
watched the nhl networks preview of our series and every analyst has us out in 4-6 games. Keep under-estimating us guys, we are still flying under the radar and i couldnt be happier. If we win game 1, I have a good feeling about the outcome of the series. Funny thing is, the Devils believe they are deep on offense, Id like to see what happens if we shut down Kovalchuk's line, and see how 'deep' they are. Reminds me on how the Devils or namely Stevens shut down Bure and that was it for us, could we see the reverse happen?

I really hope to see Gudbranson be extremely physical these playoffs, and Jovo too. I think that they can really change the pace of the games if they get some big hits early in the series.

It was really only Maurice that underestimated us, saying we'd be swept. The Devils should be favored in this series. We can win, but we're going to have our work cut out for us and play perfect hockey.

Totally agree. Look at Jovo as a rook vs Lindros. Kovalchuk might fold up like a cheap tent early in the series with the physicality...yelling NO MAS!
Hmmm...the Panthers must oppose the Devils on Friday the 13th?
I hope it'll be bad luck for the Devils. Not to underestimate them, but they don't have Scott Stevens to single-handedly shut down all Panthers offense this time.

what excites me is young guys like kulikov and gudbranson get their first taste of the playoffs at a crucial time. This experience matures them beyond their years and makes them better both physically and especially mentally for next season and their careers.
I'm not gonna pretend like I'm happy to just get in, I want to win this series and I think if we get them into our grind it out low scoring games we can.
Obviously I would love to win the first round, but really we're so ahead of schedule that I'd be happy with 2 wins against the devils. I think 2 or maybe 3 wins would shut everyone up. Tired of these "Devils Sweep" comments.

I want us to beat the Devils - but I will also be happy if we don't get swept. It's like others have said, this wasn't supposed to happen this year.. but it did!! Time to surprise everyone!
