If the Habs can bring him back, what a solid 4th line that would be with him and White there. White could start to act tougher around the heavyweights and have Staubitz take care of business. It really is a win-win for the both of them.
I loved Staubitz for the bit that he was here this season. Seems like a great team guy to have, played really strong, hit well and dropped the gloves when needed.

IMO he's everything Darche is and more. He's a fast skater for a tough guy, he skates hard, works hard, he hits and boy can he fight. He deserves the 600k or 700k we're gonna be giving to a bottom-line guy. Not to mention the chemistry he and White have!
as small as a piece as he may be regarded, if he is not brought back, then it's a sign of management still be lost and ************ us about the future. although i'm confident they know what to do this time around.
I'd keep him, it's an easy guy to carry. In the little time he spent up North, he proved that he's willing to fight with/For us. And we will need guys like that for Boston.
Glad to see the team help him out like that, that sort of team spirit can help turn things around.
Really wouldn't be upset at all if he's brought back as a 13th forward, he was better than I was expecting. Decent fighter and not a complete liability out there, knows his role and plays a physical game within his ability. He doesn't try to get himself in trouble out there. Seems to be well liked too.

You can't buy Spirit, I'm sure the guy would be more than happy to play 42-65 games on the 4th. You never know when that kinda help comes in handy. It's nice to have it close.,just in case.
I'm really not fond of enforcers, especially since the Laraque debacle.
But Staubitz isn't detrimental out there. He's an honest player, without any great perks, but without any big flaws.
And while he isn't the best fighter, at least he fights. Now, don't get me wrong. I hate fighting in hockey. But until it will be banned, I do agree that having a guy like Staubitz on the team may help. And even if fighting was banned, Staubitz would still be good enough for the fourth line. He throws the body and plays rough.
I wouldn't mind having Dumont back either. Perfect linemate for a guy like Staubitz. Well... I'll admit we haven't seen much from Gabriel Dumont, but if given more time and more responsabilities, I feel he could become another Lapierre, which is a good thing in my mind.

No not even for a tough guy but I can live with that because he does everything he can to protect his teammates and he's actually a good middle-weight fighter. Got my vote to bring him back and I'll have a bowl of crow thinking he'd be completely useless.

lol no dude...
you may hate 20-minute-mathieu but he is a way better hockey player than staubitz. call me when darche goes a year without a goal...
that said, Et Le But said it well: i did like staubitz, he performed his role well, he's cheap, the guys like him, bring him back!

Not against a team like Boston-Philly, gotta remember were in the East. That means you need to intimidate sometimes...well, sometimes. & that's a dozen important games right there!
If I was the GM the first guy I would re-sign is this guy. It's a sign of respect for these guys who have a tough job and sacrifice their face for the team.
And he would be easy to sign. 600K 2-way 1 year, take it or leave it.
