He's #1 on every list.

But he scares me. Plays a physical game like Ovy but is only 5ft11 (he could grow or stay the same), likes to imitate Eric Lindros by not looking at where he skates and he likes to deke around everyone.

How will his style of play translate to the NHL where guys are bigger and defencemen are MUCH better?

What better way for the new GM to make a splash and pull a Burke (Sedin draft) and "Nail" down two top 5 picks? We have the tools to make it happen. Imagine he finds a way to draft 2 of Yakupov/Galchenyuk/Forsberg/Murray/Dumba etc....

I have two games, the first starting at 7:15, so I probably wont be able to find out what happens untill 10 or later.

I've only really seen highlights and the like, but talent-wise, Grigorenko seems so far ahead of the others, his hockey IQ and his passing look ridiculous. Obviously concerned about the rumours of his effort level, but man, I really think he is going to be special.

I don't want to overreacte but this lottery might be THE most important thing for the organisation in the last + 15 years . Yakupov is so underated, kid is the real deal. He's going to be on Stamkos/Taveres level. Top 10 in the league and maybe at some point top 5. Guaranteed superstar !

I have no doubts about Nail becoming a star. His play just discombobulates entire teams. The defensemen are much better in the NHL, yes, but if you watch, sometimes it's Nail making 2 or 3 defenders look completely helpless. I mean, 1 on 3, he's made some people look absolutely retarded. Plus, he scores in many ways. Whether it's banging home rebounds, ripping one timers, sniping off the rush or sick dekes. He can basically do it all.

The Habs won't have to pick Murray at all. The lowest they can pick is 4th and that leaves them with Yakupov, Grigorenko, Galchenyuk and Forsberg.

Cool story bro:

Hmm.. we should've lost some on purpose to secure 29th place.

Nail Yakupov would certainly do wonders for this organization, wouldn't he?

We can hope. The Habs forum would be an awesome place to be tonight if we won the lottery.

We could really use it after how depressing this place has been for the past four months.

Can someone explain to me why RDS is saying we have 0% chance of getting the 2nd overall pick? If CLB gets the 1st overall, can't MTL still get the 2nd overall pick and thus EDM falls to 3rd by default?

If Habs win the Lottery tonight, the whole season will be worth gold and might make my 2012 worth something..

Nope.

It's either 1st, 3rd or 4th.

I don't care as long as he is taller than 6 feet and is or will be heavier than 200lbs.

Let the rebuild start!

Its not complicated. Lottery winner moves up MAX 4 spots. Since we are 3rd, if we win we get 1st automatically. If someone below us (4-5-6-7) wins we move down 1 spot to 4th.....Seriosuly can't believe there are like 50 posts in this thread asking how it works?? Move up 4, move down 1, really that difficult to understand?

Because the only event which would result in us moving up in the draft, would be if we won the lottery.

We either move up to 1st, stay put at 3rd, or drop to 4th.
