Larry best be wearing his lucky socks. For some reason I have a feeling that Anaheim wins it. Hope I'm wrong!

Yes but it is still possible, remember the Devils. So if you are about to pull the trigger give it a few more seconds.

Just a quick question, whats the lowest possible position that we can slip to? Being a true Habs fan I ask this because in our case, good luck is not usually on our side.

Why would the Habs have a very good chance of a high pick? The odds of them picking at #1 or #30 are the same. I absolutely don't want a lockout.

We can only drop 1, so the worst case scenario would be us drafting at # 4

The odds would be used based on this year's results I assume, so we would have great odds at picking high again. Anyways I would prefer hockey, even if it means us finishing last again

Maybe it's better for the Habs.

Imagine that the four first players chosen are the four best forwards - Yakupov, Grigorenko, Galchenyuk and Forsberg -....

They won't have to choose between two potential good players and gonna pick the one left. No one would accuse them to have made the wrong pick.

agreed but at the same time if we land the #1 pick we also don't have to worry about 2-3-4

Right ! Yakupov is CLEARLY the #1 pick.

They could not miss that one. Don't they ?

What if it's found out that Burke cut a deal with Molson. That the Habs win that last game allowing Toronto to move up to the bottom 5 for a much better pick, then Burke stabs Molson in the back and steals our player right from under Molson's nose.

HUMMM
I don;t think this can happen we can't pick more than one spot lower than 3rd.

Not really, if they use a three year weighted lottery like last time our odds would be pretty average and it would be all about luck.

So yeah, get out of here with that.

Honestly, I'm not particularly worried about getting bumped. Even if we do, we get the 4th pick at worst so we get one of the Big 4 so it's pretty much a "can't miss" scenario from what I can tell. Also, although this has been mentioned in the past, while Yakupov is the consensus #1, he's also for all practical purposes 1 year older than Grigs (May Bday), Gally (July Bday) and Forsberg (June or July Bday, forget which). Any way you look at it Yak (Bday Oct) has had one full season more to develop than the other 3 so you really would have to wait until after next season and THEN compare those 3 with Yak today. Just saying...

The only way they pick before us, is if they get first overall.

They only do the lottery once, any team not in the playoffs can win it. The winner moves up 4 spots, everyone else moves accordingly.

Ya if they trade into the top 2/3 it would be infuriating.
