Standard procedure. Portland is eliminated and the Coyotes are allowed unlimited roster space.

Then why isn't Miele, Brown, Goncharov, etc. in the press release?

So...Smith wasn't embellishing, huh? Maybe those idiots on the main board will apologize for their stupidity. Haha. Yeah right.

I guess Hanzal is out too. Not good. When Smith is hurt we aren't even a .500 team. Same goes for Hanzal.

I guess Korpikoski is out? That's the story behind Bolduc coming up?

At least we've got Brule sitting on the shelf.

Still, lose Hanzal, Korpikoski, and Smith in favor of MAP, Brule, and LOL?

We are doomed.

two ways you can look at this. AHL season is over and we bring up some black aces or call ups for injuries.

This really is not part of the black aces, the black aces coming are

"Werek, MacLean, Hextall, Szwarz, Miele, Rundblad, Louis, Goncharov, Murphy & Watkins will travel to Phoenix on Thursday. MHJ"

but as said already we can call anyone up.

so we did.

Every team does this during the playoffs. I'm not worried in the slightest. Yes if LOL starts we're screwed. Do we know if Smith/ Korpi/ Hanzal traveled on the team plane?

Three players met the team in Chicago today... The Pirates will finish their exit interviews and another 10 players plus the coaching staff are going to Phoenix on Thursday. All of them will be available to play, if needed.

Three guys missed practice today. If there's any doubt at all about any of them playing (and there is), they have to call some guys up. Doesn't mean anything one way or the other just yet.

By "three guys missed practice today" does that mean Smith, Hanzal, and Korpi? Or Bolduc, Pouliot and Pogge?

No one is letting out the details of our injured players right now. The main one of course is Smith. We need him badly.
The players seem very confident and unphased in the interviews -they seem very loose and this is a good thing IMO.
This presents opportunities for call ups or grinders to step up and be playoff heroes. This is what the playoffs are all about.
We will have to go with whomever we have available and get it done! Go Yotes!

I had trouble finding his stats against the Chicago Wolves, but I'm sure they're decent. Oh you mean playing well against the BLACKHAWKS in Chicago? I don't think that's possible.

Seriously, if LOL has to play I hope he proves all of us wrong. If he doesn't, what a ****** way to get knocked out that would be. Then I would definitely believe this franchise is cursed.

One game, one period, one shift......that's the key. Obviously Smith most critical and Marty second. Hate to lose Korpi but one of the 3 don't play clearly i hope it's him. Worst case?:

Whitney-Vermatte-Vrbata
Raffi-Gordon-Doan
Pyatt-Langkow-Bods
Pouliet/BizN/Bolduc-Chippy-Brule

Given the way a lot of the other forwards have been playing in this series I'd hate to lose Korpi just as much as Hanzal at this point. He's one of the only guys consistently taking it to the Chicago defense instead of constantly back pedaling and making dumb passes.

indeed. 3-0, 1.27 gaa, 0.959 sp in Chicago, w/ no SOs to skew the stats.

Small sample size, but startling nonetheless.

of course, Smith is also 3-0, 1.30 gaa, 0.956 sp in Chicago.

6-0 record > most home wins in the league. here's hoping.
