"We'll go into the draft and free agency with the same mind-set we've had: We'll try to improve the team any way we can, but within the framework of our game plan," Snow said Sunday. "I don't envision any big changes. We have one of the top prospect pools in the league and our core is a good, young group. It's about taking the next step with that core we have."
"I think about some of the games we played against the elite teams in the league, like Detroit [a 5-1 win Jan. 10] or the two wins we had in Philly, and I think this team can compete with anyone," Snow said. "Obviously, consistency was our biggest issue. But it's a matter of maturity with the young group at the core of the team.
**** this team. I've ****ing had it. We won three ****ing games that those elite teams obviously took off and that's Snow's logic that we're just as good!!!! Hey Garth, remember the ****ing shellackings against Boston and Pittsburgh and most recently Columbus? I sure as **** do.
So before we even hit free agency Garf Wang has declared way ahead of time there won't be any trades for help and that the next steps taken will be done so strictly through the drafted core.
This club treats the fans and its own players like feces. Anyone want to debate me when I predict a lottery finish next year?
Garth's earned the summer off after all the hard work he does the other 3 seasons. Remember to always wear sunscreen and don't forget to write a "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" essay for all the season ticket holders!
Wait, guys, I think this means he's going to make a big trade/free agent signing. Last year when he said he'd make a trade for a top 4 defenseman, he didn't do anything. He's fooling us!
"Jack said it during this year's training camp: Competition from younger players pushing veterans for spots only improves the entire team," Snow said. "We had that with David Ullstrom earlier in the year, and that allowed us to let [Blake] Comeau go."
But what happens when there's no veterans to push?
Petrov is the only prospect who is even remotely ready to push a "veteran" out of the way. But the problem is, we don't really have any veterans for Petrov to push aside. Okposo, Grabner, Nielsen & Bailey are the only players Petrov can push aside. 3 of the 4 are signed long term, and it's highly doubtful Snow would trade any of them anyway. And even if you are trading 1 of them, if it isn't in a "roster shakeup" type of a move, then just WTF are you getting back for them? A pick? A prospect who is at least 1 year away? What the hell is the point?
So who the hell is Petrov pushing out of the way? Jay Pandolfo? Great, so now Petrov plays on our 4th line?
Seriously Snow, pull your head out of the sand and get this team the support they need. My god.

its sooo funny seeing people go crazy over this stuff. i know, we have suffered for far too long but i know this team will end up being good soon. im not stressed. i feel something big at the draft, either a lottery win or the isles trade the pick to get a impact dman or to move up to 1 or 2 overall.

Based on our track record or some combination of gumdrops, lollipops, and acid?
