Blues are tough to play against. They are relentless on the forecheck and backcheck, do a good job keeping the slot clean and clean up any rebounds.

I love the way the utilize the center of the ice on the breakout. I wish we could learn to do that.

Very intense night of hockey. Lots of hits and lots of plays for Shanahan to review

Yes, I know where he went, hence the "fell out of favor with the Minnesota Wylde" remark.

The Bruins won a Stanley Cup with Tomas freakin' Kaberle going through the motions on their roster last year. A team with Timmy Thomas and Zdeno Chara would make Chris McAllister look like a viable NHL defenseman. Greg Zanon is Scott Hannan-lite. I don't want guys who "seem" to be playing well for them. I want guys who actually do play well.

We have a plethora of bottom-pairing defensemen. In fact that was the problem with SOB--he was a bottom pairing defenseman playing top-pairing minutes for most of the time following Quincey's departure. We don't need more bottom pairing defensemen--we need legit top-4 guys.

Wrong thread for this, but we also need a bottom pairing defenseman. Zanon would be a better add than O'Brien for our bottom pairing with Wilson. We also need a top 4 puck mover.

I didn't think that was very bad, a 2-min charge is the max for that hit.
He didn't leave his feet (Blues announcers were completely off there) and he hit McDonald from the front. McDonald just had his head down.

And I would never had thought the Blues would embellish this much. Nichol and McDonald flopping on the ice.

Aww, Bogus call on Sharks, well surprise surprise.

Galiardi get penalized on a clean hit. It's like he never left Avs.

Meanwhile McDonald don't get called on a clear slew foot.

The Refs gave Sharks no chance of a comeback.

Horrible reffing there in the last 15 minutes or so.

I love how heated these playoffs are already. Wish the Avs were in it, I think they'd be a fun team to watch in these gritty battles.

Sharks should just get off the ice. Not only did they lose the game but they're also getting their ass kicked at the end of the game now. Blues just pounding them.

I'm guessing this win means that Stewart will sit next game as well.

Could end up being bad for the Blues. Most of the Sharks big heavies weren't out there. With both teams having so many big guys on their rosters things could get ugly quick.

Hahaha, Toews stops to make sure he doesn't hit Smith, Smith shoves him, Toews gets a penalty for goalie interference.

The reffing has been odd in many games. Tonnes of penalties in some games and few in others. Calling one thing and ignoring an identical thing a few minutes later. Calling penalties in the first period only to decide to let the teams 'decide the winner' in the third and call nothing.

I'd really like Ray Whitney for our veteran presence next season. He's still really good.

I was hoping they would go after him a few years ago after he showed chemistry with Duchene at the World Championships.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun
Sharks coach Todd McLellan livid at what he feels was sucker punch by Sobotka on Moore. Says Moore has a broken nose.

A sucker punch on a member of the Moore family resulting in broken bones. Sounds familiar.....

Shaw ran Smith hard in the head.

Surprised to see the Refs had balls to give a game misconduct.
Right call I think.

Yea it was pretty blatent. Was probably sketchy as hell for Smith, his career really went down the drain after he suffered a concussion in TBay.
