Honestly I'm surprised Boston signed him at all. I thought the Bruins were always fairly strong on defence. Must be for the farm team or an emergency call up for injuries.

However, like Jeff Taffe, I guess it's a case of getting more money on a one-way AHL contract than on a two-way deal. The Wolves' owners are known for having deep pockets.

I remember when we traded him to Montreal for Matt D'Agostini that quite a few fans were upset with the move.

Never hear about him anymore though.

Still young and he played on the bottom 6. And the bottom 6 last year was godlike awfull. I wouldn't give up too fast on him.

#DallasStars sign Richard Bachman and Colton Sceviour to one-year contracts... More information coming soon.
Both were RFAs, Bachman had elected arbitration.

Nick Bonino was also re-signed today, so you can cross him off the list.

So for arbitration, guys like Bachman, Raymond, etc. still were able to negotiate until their arbitration dates and came to an agreement on a new contract without arbitration being necessary? Am I right in saying this? What is the difference between player-elected and team-elected arbitration? Does anyone know?

He basically signed his qualifying offer. As a RFA that hasn't played many NHL games he doesn't have many options.

Anybody know the terms of the Larsen deal? I'm expecting somewhat big things from him this season with Souray and Grossman now gone.

Not necessarily, maybe they want to give him a guaranteed Nhl salary for in hopes of not losing him next year? .. I still don't see him displacing the top 6 but injuries should help and looks like flood is not coming back so maybe he will be the seventh at minimum? I dunno there's lots of possibilities just saying he doesn't absolutely have to be in the Nhl

Player-elected arbitration is "you don't pay me enough" and club-elected arbitration is, "we pay you too much".

If he has to clear waivers then I would concede to the previous post he should get at the very least the 7th spot
