Ok, I missed that, thanks. Still a lot of money for player like Salak to give up here.
Performed well with Farjestads in 2009-10, which led him to being brought back over to North America, so I don't see why he wouldn't fetch some decent money over there again next year.
Oilers re-sign Lennart Petrell to a 1-year deal, terms undisclosed. Petrell played 60 games for the Oilers last season, scoring 4 goals and 9 points. He was scheduled to become an UFA on July 1st.
Per Elite Prospects, Alexander Salak whose contract with Chicago was terminated yesterday, has signed with Farjestad of the Elitserien. Salak was a UFA.

Petrell was a good find for us last year. Brought a physical two-way game to our bottom 6.
Rhett Rakhshani, who played 5 games with the NY Islanders last season and had 49 points in 49 games in the AHL with Bridgeport, has signed with HV-71 of the Elitserien. Rakshahni, 24, was a 4th round pick, 100th overall, of the Islanders in 2006. He is scheduled to become a RFA on July 1st.

@theshaves : "Matt Climie is also under an AHL contract with the Wolves that was signed last off-season."
It's weird that a guy he would have accepted an inferior contract before the season had even started.

I'm also surprised to see Rakhshani bolt to Europe. He would probably have been one of the first forwards to get recall from Bridgeport. Sounds similar to Bud Holloway signing in Europe instead of returning to the Kings' organisation, last offseason.

I don't get that at all because last season Climie was under an NHL deal with Vancouver. Or are they saying he signed an AHL deal THIS offseason?

The deal was a complicated one. NHL wise it was a 1 year deal. AHL wise it was 2 years. I'm guessing Canucks told him if he signs a 2 year deal in the AHL, they would upgrade his contract by signing him for the 1st year of the deal.
I don't see any other way it could have been done as when the deal was announced it was announced as a 1 year deal with a 2nd year that would be a regular AHL contract.
This way it secured Chicago a good backup/1B goalie

He was a 6th round choice, 175th overall of the Islanders in 2008. He is scheduled to become a RFA on July 1st.
Arthur Staples of Newsday confirms that Mark Katic has signed with Berlin of Germany. Katic, 23, had 4 assists in an injury-shortened 14 game season with Bridgeport of the AHL. He was a 3rd round pick, 62nd overall, of the Islanders in 2007 and is scheduled to become a RFA on July 1st.
Also, per Elite Prospects, Jacob Micflikier has signed with Biel of Switzerland. Micflikier, 27, had 21 goals and 56 points in 57 games with Hershey while under contract to the Washington Capitals. He was never drafted and is scheduled to become an UFA on July 1st.

Sorry I had to say it. I have nothing against the Islanders (well I hate the owner).
Elite prospects also confirms Cody Almond has signed with Geneve Servette. Almond, 22 years old, could still have his rights retained by Minnesota as he is scheduled to be a RFA if qualified.

I know Juraj Mikus has been rumored to have rejected his QO from Toronto with the intention of playing in Europe. But I'm wondering if maybe you've confused this Juraj Mikus with the other Juraj Mikus (http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9250), drafted by Montreal, played in Los Angeles' system for a season, and just this past off-season, signed on to play with HC Lev Praha of the KHL. Just a thought.
I looked at the HC Levs wiki page and it says that they signed Roszival? Did I miss that or is someone just screwing with that page?
Elite Prospects had them rumored to be signing him as they have shown interest in him and have contacted him. This was a few weeks ago. Nothing since then has surfaced.
