I think the Caps can take the Bruins. They looked genuinely pissed off in that game against the Rangers. If Holtby continues this, and if guys like Ward, Johansen, and Perrault knock in a few here and there, they can beat the Bruins.
All of these series are very interesting and any team could win any series.
Van-LA; Quick could very well outplay Luongo.
SJ-STL: I expect the Blues to win but maybe the Sharks have been half-##$ing it all season and will come out full cylinders for the playoffs.
The big question of course; which 3rd liner wins the annual John Druce award? Last year it was Bergenheim. My darkhorse this year is Marcus Kruger on Chicago.
Bettman said Tortorella's comments come with the territory of Crosby being one of the game's biggest stars.
"The level of passion, emotion and gamesmanship can never be overestimated," Bettman said. "I think people who follow the game closely understand it's just noise. My guess is, Sidney Crosby is still the most popular player and has legions of fans in all ages in multiple countries. The fact that somebody might take a potshot, I guess, is the price of greatness."
At the game on Sat, there was a loud section of Caps fans all sitting together. They made tons of noise all game. As all the Caps players left the ice at the end of the game I was watching them all leave. Only one player looked up to this section and acknowledged their support by giving them a wave and stick salute............ Ovi8. Not a big deal, but I thought it showed good character by the guy.
It's not really that. As the first seed, we would always play the lowest seed possible. So there's a great possibility of a Rangers/Devils second round, as I expect Boston to beat the Caps. They should be able to score on Holtby, and their defense is miles better.
They don't realize PIT has the hardest road to get to the cup. Assuming every team wind that's supposed to PIT would have to go through Philly, Boston, and the Rangers just to get to the finals. That's one hell of a road.
