San Jose Sharks junior prospects have seen the gamut of experiences in 2013-14

The San Jose Sharks junior prospect pool features five, up and coming prospects of various pedigree. Some have a plethora of skill, some of grit but what remains consistent in all of them is that they are good character kids in and around the rink and have something to prove to the naysayers; a staple for Sharks prospects.

No two prospects are alike, and their path to the pros are all different. The 2013-14 campaigns have been revelations for some and forgetful for others. Like with all young junior prospects, you have to take the good with the bad.

This update features three new players from the 2013 NHL Draft, highlighted by first round talent, Mirco Mueller, who enters the year as the only defensemen in the group after longstanding junior prospects Konrad Abeltshauser and Dylan DeMelo turned pro.… read more

He's their de-facto #1 and is still new to this. I think he'll end up a very nice surprise for San Jose. I remember a year and a bit ago, people (including me) were saying "who" when we heard Hertl's name called.

Just curious, have you been watching Mueller? Seems like we don't have anybody on here who's watched him play very much.

Only seen a couple of games this year, unfortunately. I've tried to read up as much as possible - I love to follow recently drafted 1st rounders that my teams get.

Topics with these reactions are still fun to read Especially with all those ppl who changed name and avatar to "something-Hertl-something"

It's okay because Guod traded up to select Micro.

Another nice write up Craig.

I watched the Everett/Portland game last night and Mueller was very good, played several shifts against Petan and/or Leipsic. Every game I've watched he's been hard matched against one of the other teams top 2 or 3 skaters.

One thing I'd like to add about Boudreau is that he was drafted as a boom or bust project, I have a feeling that he's going to be in the Q through his overage year so he has plenty of time to develop (or not).

I'm still wondering if Lalancette has shown the org enough to earn an ELC, I'm hoping he has as he looks like he has the potential to be another good bottom 6 versatile forward at the NHL level.

My last thought, I can't wait to see Tierney at the pro level. The OHL game is looking like it's too easy for him these days.

I'm hoping Mueller does the Suter thing. Suter didn't really put up points until the NHL.

I'm excited for Tierney to turn pro. He's my favorite Junior guy right now.

Tierney is super awesome but right now, I'm super intrigued by what Lalancette might be able to do.

Kuraly, as expected, has had a great season so far and he's already matched his last seasons point totals (12pts, 40gms) in just 16 games, and the poor guy is still shooting under 6% (individually, not team). He's 3rd on the Redhawks in SOG and I'm thinking that the puck is likely to start going in the net for him more often.

I've watched a few Redhawks games and hes been snakebit. I imagine him being on the top line by the end of the year. The goals will come.
