Both 22 year olds out of the WHL who had reputations for being mentally tough.
Both got playing time in the regular season but neither were ever relied upon as the starter.
Thoughts?

My only thought is that he should be allowed a start or two before being compared to the guy that won the Conn Smythe that year.

Wasn't Cam Ward's team in the top 3 in the NHL?
EDIT: I was wrong, they were 4th with 112 points...

They're both goalies. I think the comparison ends there.

I wouldn't have a problem with it.
Most likely wishful thinking though.

I'm not comparing the teams, I'm comparing the similarities of the goalies heading into the playoffs.

And what does that have to do with the comparison between Braden Holtby and Cam Ward?

Hey, I'm just responded to your claim that Holtby's a bad goaltender. I never said he was Cam Ward. Sensitive much?

Let's see how he does in his first ever playoff game.

Good idea. Let's see how he does before calling him a crappy goaltender, shall we?

Ward or no Ward, this Holtby kid can play. I'm not easily wooed by goaltenders...but I think he's better than Neuvirth right now, this kid has a bright future as far as I'm concerned.

At one point Kyle Wellwood was a future hall of famer.

If Holtby is instrumental in eliminating the B's, who honestly cares about Vokoun.

Chill bro. He's played less than 20 games and never in the NHL. Let's save a comparison until he can hold a candle to Ward that year. It's an insult to the accomplishment...
