Cayouche's 2012 mock draft

Here's the one i posted the years before

2011 http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...547&highlight=

2007 p1 http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...613&highlight=

2007 p2 http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...157&highlight=

Cayouche's annual mock draft 2012 edition

1. COLUMBUS - Nail Yakupov
I think they will trade the pick, no top picks seems to fit with the BJs. If they dont, their best shot is Yakupov.

2. EDMONTON - Mikhail Grigorenko
Big fan of BPA, not needs. They can always trade assets to get defense in the future.

3. MONTREAL - Alex Galchenyuk
I'd consider trading down.
The habs need a homerun. We like the Leblanc, Tinordi, Beaulieu and Kristo's but none of them will be stars IMO. Galchenyuk could be a top player in the league, he's woth the shot.

4. NEW YORK I - Matt Dumba
I think he's the def with the most potential.

5. TORONTO - Ryan Murray
He's the BPA at this point, Id love to have a Murray type of player in my organisation future.

6. ANAHEIM - Filip Forsberg
At this point, Forsberg and Trouba are on the same page. D vs F ...

7. MINNESOTA - Jacob Trouba
I think Minny should jump on this guy. He may be the best D after all is said and done.

8. CAROLINA - Radek Faska
In my book, there's a elite 7 in this draft. at least 15 players could end up in the top 10 after them.

9. WINNIPEG - Griffin Reinhart
Big, solid, safe everything you expect for a top D in the NHL.

10. TAMPA BAY - Morgan Rielly
I understand that with Rielly they're taking another iplayer with an injury past (connolly), buuuutttttt an Hedman Rielly combo will be great in the future.

11. WASHINGTON via COL - Brendan Gaunce

12. BUFFALO - Sebastien Collberg

13. DALLAS - Derrick Pouliot

14. CALGARY - Cody Ceci

15. WASHINGTON - Olli Määttä

16. OTTAWA - Stefan Matteau

17. FLORIDA - Martin Frk

18. SAN JOSE - Zemgus Girgensons

19. COLUMBUS via LAK - Teuvo Teravainen

20. PHOENIX - Matt Finn

21. CHICAGO - Pontus Aberg

22. NEW JERSEY - Slater Koekkek

23. TAMPA BAY via DET - Phil Di Giuseppe

24. BOSTON - Tom Wilson

25. PHILADELPHIA - Colton Sissons

26. BUFFALO - Brady Skjei

27. PITTSBURGH - Dalton Thrower

27. ST LOUIS - Mike Matheson

29. NEW YORK R - Thomas Hertl

30. VANCOUVER - Ludvig Bystrom

Smart picks at least for my two teams. Forsberg could be a gamble, but really our youth core is already very strong. The reward is worth the risk.

Reinhart is smart for the Jets. New franchise needs stability, Reinhart is as safe a pick in this draft as you're gonna find.

Didn't really see any glaring problems. Pouilot seems a little high. Can't play a lick of defense and that could ward teams 11-19 off. Ceci is all but certain to go before him. Finn should be a Shark just cause...well...Sharks+Finn...it writes itself.

If Dumba and Murray are on the board for the Islanders, I'd think Murray being more NHL-ready would cause him to be the pick over Dumba. Islanders need a top defenseman who can play ASAP.

We'd take Girgensons over Pouliot.

Edmonton is definitely going for Grigorenko, and Timmins is so high on Galchenyuk I don't see us picking anyone else. I think this is pretty realistic.

Would like the Leafs to get a forward out of this draft, but if Murray is there it'd be tough to ignore that.

I don't know. I think Girgensons is a little overrated. I just don't see him ever amounting to anything special. 3rd line scorer and I feel that's being generous.

Ceci I can understand. But Collberg is no slouch. If he's developed right and doesn't become Andrew Cogliano winger edition he could be a great asset.

I'd be happy with either Aberg or Bystrom.. but I have a feeling if Bystrom is still available when Chicago picks, they'll go with him.
