Did some googling and this is in fact Button's pre-draft list from June 8, 2011.
I wonder if hall and yakupov could play on the same line. They both love taking the puck on the rush. Anyone else think this could cause trouble. Of course they don't have to be on the same line.
Ultimately these list dont mean **** all, theres gonna be 10 different lists all different order. No one knows what Stu and co. are thinking and their decision won't be made until probably the draft.
All I know is I knew they would draft Hall or Seguin, and RNH over everyone early on, and I have a feeling they're leaning towards Grigs, and i've heard they're really high on him, these playoffs though will be a big deciding factor.
For me its
YAK,Grigs,Reilly, and Murray, then the rest.

Yakupov is not in the class of the top tier #1's overall.

Gotta agree: Yakupov, from the interview on Oilers site, is a pretty assertive kid, if he gives us or Columbus the impression that he would be unhappy to be drafted to us, then we need to go the Nords route.
Yeah, he probably won't get as high a package as Lindros type player but still.

Lindros was considered a generational player at the time - best prospect since Mario. No way Yakupov goes for anything close. Teams wanting Yak will be trying to unload unwanted players. If we are lucky enough to land Yak be happy and enjoy having two scoring lines for the first time since the early 90s

Obviously the sea dogs are a crazy deep team compared to the Remparts, perhaps you are suggesting they only let their 3rd and 4th liners play or that both prospects you mentioned are more highly regarded than Huberdeau? Not sure, but reardless, I just wanted to provide context. I believe you were also the one pointin at Grigorbeki's PP production before that, which is somewhat very close to BS we heard about RNH before last year's draft. Point is, if you put your top dog out there on the PP and he bumps you to a 4+ goal lead, you might give him some leeway and let other players feast on a demoralized opposition.
My point was just to provide context for everyone to get an alternate reason why Griogorenko happens not to lead his team in points. Whether you adhere to it or not is another issue. I guess we will see further down the line.

that and no one expected forsberg to be elite, he was one player that injuries ruined what could have been a hall of famer type career. i still remember him missing an entire season then leading the playoffs in scoring for most of the playoffs, thats just unreal to me.....

dont need a top 5 pick for those 2. Hopefully Tambo swings a deal with WSH if one of these 2 are around by COL's pick (#11).
You'd have to make the trade before the draft. If they get that far, the value of the pick becomes too high.

You're overestimating youth and potential in the idea that any good prospect will simply replace established NHLers along with the dream that gambling with a draft pick will net you a better player. I'm definitely less excited about this year's lottery compared to the previous two. I wanted so badly to win the lottery so we could get Hall and RNH. This year.. its almost like.. 'mehhhh.. if we win we win.. if not, no big deal'. For some reason, Yakupov is not a big draw for me as Hall/RNH were. But having said that, I'd probably still be jumping tonight if we win.

I agree, we wouldn't get the same kind of a return, but I'd trade down a spots or two and take Grigorenko/Galchenyuk and add whatever other solid asset(s) we could get.
