Interesting because Friedman is a very competent journalist not some blogger throwing things against a wall to see what may or may not stick , and because there appears to be a disconnect between the coach and player and Winnipeg would definitely be interested in a C like Duchene . Cheveldayoff has said he will be active and assertive ( not promising moves though ) is open to trades but it has to be the right fit. This could be just that, IF Colorado is open to trading Duchene , I am pretty sure Winnipeg would be open to a fair offer going back.

Eh, if we go after a partner for EJ I'd hope we'd go after someone a little more experienced than EJ who can help teach EJ while being a very smart guy EJ won't have to worry about cleaning up after the way EJ has had to when played with Quincey, SOB and start-of-the-season Hejda.

Plus I think Burmistrov coming back for Elliott or Barrie+2nd makes this more appealing than a trade with the coyotes and a lot more interesting to think about since Burmi is in a verysimilar position to where Radar was a year ago, he's a little further away since he's spent so much time on the wing and still needs to fill out more than Ryan did, but he's a hard working kid with good instincts and excellent defensive abilities. Staz-Radar-Burmistrov-McClement/Malone would be an absolutely filthy set of centers defensively with quality offensive skills. Clearly looks better with Duchene but that downgrade is totally worth finding EJ a partner like Enstrom.

I like the idea of Enstrom+ for Duchene, but I hate the idea of the "+" being Burmistrov.

If we could acquire Duchene without giving up Burmistrov, Kane, Bogosian, Scheifele or the 9th overall pick this year, I would be all for it.

Good for the Jets, but not so good for the Avs.

I'm sure you would, luckily Avs FO isn't run by Mike Milbury so it isn't going to happen.

Sherman wouldn't have brought Sacco back if he thought it would cause issues with Duchene or others in the lockerroom. Duchene's situation isn't like Stewart's.

However, if the Jets would discuss Enstrom + Burmi/Little, I think the Avs would certainly listen. By all indications, Colorado and Winnipeg had discussions at the deadline over an unknown player, whom spoke to Colorado players at the time to talk about the city and franchise.

Do tell, I had not heard anything like this. Sounds interesting.

Thanks for the answer. I know and respect Friedman, but the quote simply didn't seem to offer much -- at least to me; I think it was carefully phrased as an opinion. I do hope he is right though if we will get the proper return for Duchene.

That's about it, there was some rumors that one of the Jets players asked some Avs about Denver and the Avalanche organization and the two teams were scouting each other on regular basis before the trade deadline.

I was under the impression it was Little. And same thing with Brassard in CBJ.

This.

But at this point it isn't as easy to speculate what the deal might have been. Little or Enstrom seemed to make the most sense, but we moved 2 roster players with a 2rd (Jones) rumored to be close to being moved.

So it could have been one of Galiardi, Winnik or Jones from the Avs in the deal. Or it could have been a bigger deal for one of Little, Enstrom or maybe both.

No interest whatsoever in Stastny.

6.6 million for a 50 point center? That has to be on of the worst contracts in the league.

Enstrom himself had 6 less points in 2 less games in 2011.
