That's rare. Every closer blows a save at some point. Except for Jose Valverde, every closer last year in the top 30 in saves blew at least 2 opportunities, and more often between 5 and 10.

This is the why having these threads in the Leafs Forum is not a good idea.

And to the guy complaining about Rogers and 'cheapness' that wanted Heath Bell, because apparently he was the way to go and not a young, closer who is under control, well Heath Bell injured himself trying to open up a jar. To make a sandwich. He wanted to be a man, who makes his own sandwich. Well good for him, I guess.

Santos struggled, but JP should have blocked some of those balls. My goodness.

Hopefully, this is just a rough start of the season for Santos. I'm sure Farrell isn't going to give up on him yet, and neither should anyone else. Still plenty of season left, boys.

You do realize at the very moment their is 157 games left, in September there will be less than 30. Two blown saves in September is way worse than two blown saves in the first week.

Heath Bell blew his first opportunity of the year. Same with Valverde.

There is a thread on the baseball forum if you feel Leaf fans are annoying you

Unfortunately even Jays fans make rash judgements after 3 games.

Remember how Brett Cecil smashed several college closing records? We sure could use the closing Cecil right now. Perfect groomed closer. what do we do? Convert him to a ****ing starter

Its true, not a huge deal. But I dont like handing the Sox this game, especially when its the home opener. Extra sting to it.

Where has our offense gone?

True enough. Last year at the beginning of the season that awful bullpen was lights out for the Jays.

Maybe it will be the opposite this year.

It doesn't matter, you win 2 now or 2 later, they are still counting as 2 damn wins in the freakin win column!!

How about this! You wont have to worry about blown saves in September of you win NOW and put yourself in a ****ing good position!

I'm almost furious..but that's just cause Santos is on my yahoo team.

Lets give him a chance though. For all we know he goes off and saves his next 25 games..

Santos pitched 4 games last season where he gave up 3+ runs in an inning...but then he also kept his opponents hitless 44 times over 43 innings..

He's had a few awful performances but he did it last year too..in fact on June 8th and 10th in two back-to-back appearances, Santos combined to give up 7 earned runs..

Give him time.
