assuming WSH is knocked out in the first round. would they be willing to do their 1st plus COL 1st for ours?
in case we are trading down is the value there.
currently 11 and 16 for 7th? is that asking too much?

I wouldn't mind moving down to the 11th spot personally. We need more bodies on defense.

Why does Washington do this? And I'd think that would be an overpayment.

maybe their guy is there and they really want him.
also what if Griogorenko is there and they love him but we don't, i know a big what if.
just threw the idea out there, we may not even want to trade back.

Could be! Or we could make and agreement somehow.
Where is our Nystrom pick btw?

There's no pick.
The Wild basically gave him to the Stars for free. Don't expect anything.
Remember the Kalus trade?

I don't think we got anything from that.

I'm pretty sure we did. I remember the talk about why Dallas didn't just claim him on re-entry, but instead traded for him (had something to do with their cap situation, iirc).
Maybe it's in 2013?
EDIT: Never mind, we got future considerations, I thought it was something else

Come on 4%
Here's to hoping for a repeat of last years lottery, but with our luck a team with pick 8-11 will win.

I just noticed squidz put Forsberg at the bottom of his "Players of Note."
Coincidence? I think not.

4.7% of winning
9.9% of moving down (double Mikko odds)
85.4% staying the same
Can't wait!

I think the top 6 goes in some order of:
Yakupov
Galchenyuk
Dumba
Murray
Forsberg
Grigorenko
Not sure who goes where, but that's how I see the top 6 prospects at this point in time. The Wild should get a strong player regardless so not all that concerned. However, it'd be very Minnesota-y to see a team behind them win the lottery and bump them back a spot to #8. Not that it'd matter a ton, but annoying never the less.

hmmm, im on the Morgan Rielly bandwagon as CF does his best Sam Beckett from Quantam Leap and rights the wrongs from giving away Nick Leddy.

Honestly, Forsberg is growing on me, and we've had some luck drafting the top rated Euro recently. If he's there at 7, I like him a bit better than any of the defensemen likely to be there.

I think the Oilers are going to stay a wild card and hold their hand so no one sees it. I could see them surprising people and picking a D at #2. But either way.
