Paraphrasing:

Excited to possibly play for Roy again next season.

Which could mean a couple things, either that Roy is going to be Montreal's GM and Montreal is going to pick him (which is why people are likely in a tizzy) or would possibly be Roy staying with the Remparts and Grigs playing another CHL season.

Send a message via MSN to Fel 96
As pointed out in the Grigorenko thread, that account may have been running by a teammate since some teammates both confirmed/denied that was the real one.

Anyways, we will get more info tomorrow.

Sounds like around $20 million to me in a few years. Good luck with that Oil.

Hall has had bad injuries the last two years, Yakupov had concussions and RNH had shoulder injuries.

Ouch!

I'm not too concerned. Hall hasn't shown an ability to stay healthy. RNH already had two shoulder injuries...Eberle is good but they have had a huge number of busts in the past 10 years:

Jesse Niinimaki -> Bust
Marc Pouliot -> Bust
Devan Dubnyk -> Mediocre
Rob Schremp -> Bust
Andrew Cogliano -> Bust
Sam Gagner -> Bust (he's been in so many trade proposal)
Alex Plante -> Appears to be a bust
Riley Nash -> Bust (but they turned him into something decent)
Jordan Eberle -> Okay
Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson -> Appears heading toward bust

I mean we trash Minnesota's draft record but Edmonton's is just as bad, if not worse.

True. and for years weve been saying that once they get out of the cellar they are gonna be beastly. Well, they show no signs of getting out of the cellar anytime soon.

So.... anyone even read my post last page about the alternate draft ideas?

That's why I'm always up for drafting several second rounders and see what we get, always could end up with a star.

But Jordan Eberle: Okay. Oh yeah sure, did you take a look at his stats this year.

Eberle is a 2nd year player and one of the only catalysts on the team currently. Who do they have other than Eberle? I'm going to be curious to see how he produces next season.

RNH, Hall and Eberle are pretty much it - unless Gagner has another 8 point night.

RNH was battling shoulder injuries and Hall has had a host of injuries from concussion to high ankle sprain last year to major shoulder surgery himself.

Minnesota can take some pride that players will sign. I think the biggest signing Edmonton has had was who? Khaby a few years ago?

Eberle is a beast. I don't know what you are talking about just okay. I would trade anyone in our organization for him straight up besides maybe Koivu, even then I would think about it.

Also I wouldn't really consider Gagner a bust. He has gone over the 40 point mark for 5 straight years since hes been in the league. I mean sure it is not what you would like to see from a 6th overall pick but he is definitely a serviceable depth scorer that can play with elite talent as seen this year when he was put in between Hall and Eberle.

But yea they have had a pretty bad record of drafting before the recent drafts. The players they have been drafting lately seem good, but I don't think their strategy of building a team is very well thought out. Too many individually talented players and not enough team first guys that really help you pull out wins. They could use some shutdown players like Mikko.

Any chance we add another Finn?

Teuvo Teräväinen, RW, Jokerit (FIN)???

I've seen a lot of talk/mocks lately of him joining top 10.

He's got 18 pts in 40 games in one of the best leagues in the world. I have only seen video on him, wow he has a great shot, and quick hands.

People knock the size. I think he could be similar to Sven Bartschi who the Flames took last year.

I'm not saying he will go top 10 or he should be the pick. But he's someone to think about....at the very least.

Screw everything i've said earlier!

I'm all inn on:

Griffin REINHART

Size and skill, gives me a thrill!

(Do people think he need more years in Oil Kings, or maybe Houston before joining the big league?)

My position on Teravainen has been (and still is) "He looks like a nice prospect. He'll be a good pickup, but hopefully for someone else." If we didn't have Granlund, I'd say consider picking him. However, we're already undersized up front. Teravainen is Granlund sized, with Granlund skating, but a more shoot first mentality. My greatest hope is that Button was right, and a team reaches for Teravainen (a la Zibanejad or Schiefele last year) and we get our own "Couturier."

Reinhart needs about 3-5 years before seeing NHL ice unless we just want Justin Falk 2.0.

Look at who their second line would be: Jones-Eberle-Hemsky

That line's good for another 50+ man games of injury.

Scouts and teams get enamored with a certain player and that's all it takes for a Couturier or Fowler to drop. There's so many possibilities and I think there was a quote from Tambellini about how he thinks there will be a lot of movement in the top 5 this year. I'd think the Oilers might entertain the idea of trading the #1 overall because they really do need defensemen. I just don't think they'll do that unless they are paid a king's ransom.

Now the question becomes do we go for a Reinhart who has a lot of development to do, but could be the best defenseman in the draft. A good frame already that could be Justin Falk if it goes wrong or a Suter if all goes well. A Rielly who could be an elite puck-mover that's highly skilled. A Dumba who has all sorts of concerns as far as size and making the hits that he does, will he be able to translate it to the NHL? And a Trouba, who was probably the best player for the US at the WJC. There's one thing that's for sure, the scouts have a lot of work ahead of them. I'll trust whoever they decide to pick, but I don't really have favorite right now, it seems like there's no actual way to know which one is the best.
