Father of PHX AGM Brad Treliving involved in keeping Coyotes in Glendale?
Is the jest with which that man spoke simply lost on the viewers who posted this?
Was the coy answer about owning pizza parlors when asked if he would be interested in owning the Coyotes not blatant enough?
Phineas Taylor Barnum said there is a sucker born every minute. If you assign any potential ownership of the Coyotes to that video, congratulations, it's your minute.

An offhand remark made during a CBC entertainment interview garners a speculative article written by a fan blogger, which in turn then becomes extrapolated by some here as the likelihood of a potential new buyer of the Coyotes.
Not that I go there very frequently (maybe once a year, if that), but if Jim Treliving buys the Coyotes and keeps them in Glendale, I'll boycott Boston Pizza.
You realize BP is one of the Jets main sponsors, right?
Like I said in the other thread, I have a hard believing Treliving would be interested in the Coyotes.
Despite the fact his son works for them and that Treliving is from Manitoba (perhaps he's still a fan of the old Jets), he is a very astute investor and I can't see him willingly lose money on the Coyotes.

He's the only guy I know who bought an entire hockey league just to give his only son, then in his 20's, a job as league President.
Would he now buy an NHL team to give the same son, now in his 30's, a job as General Manager or some other top hockey position?
Jim Treliving should be much too old and wise to act so foolishly, but who knows? He's a 70-y.o. ex-cop from Virden, MB who looks to me like he could have had a pretty good hockey career himself if that's what he'd chosen. If he really has the money, maybe he would spend it all in one place if it advanced the career of his son.
However, I do think it's doubtful that he actually has the money to compete with PKP, even if that's what he wants to do.

But what a hit Boston Pizza is going to take from that boycott!!
Boston Pizza is terrible and should be boycotted anyway
Agreed.
People do irrational things for their children...
Any Manitoba who purports to "hate" the Phoenix Coyotes is an idiot. Blame someone locally if you must, there were plenty of scapegoats to choose from, but it makes zero sense to hate on the team itself, especially one with no affiliations to the group that "stole" it away in the first place.
Plenty of players, not even on this team, rent houses in the valley area. Yes, you have to worry about trades, but that's only a group of players. There are a good chunk of players on every team that won't be moved.
This is everyone on the team moving, not just players you can count on 1 hand for the most part.
Right but I still think its overblown. Like I said for a guy like Doan who has been there forever who is an established star its one thing. But someone like Bissionette he is a throw-in type player. Is this such a tremendous distraction he can't concentrate?
However, I do think it's doubtful that he actually has the money to compete with PKP, even if that's what he wants to do.
A Google Search comes up with CelebrityNetWorth.com, listing his net worth as $640 million. A more reputable source, however, would probably be Canadian Business Magazine's Rich 100 list, where he does not crack the top 100. PKP and his brother Erik barely squeak in at 99, with a net worth of $610 million.
why boycott for keeping a team in phoenix, why DO THEY HAVE to move it? I think QC and even Saskatoon deserve teams as much as the next guy, but why would we boycott someone for choosing not to screw yotes fans over?

You sir, have my respect for seeing through the bias of that statement and for considering more than yourself in commenting.
Bravo.
I think certain people have lost sight of the fact that there are loyal fans on the other side of this.

I find this whole thing very disturbing, as Treliving was born in Manitoba. I expect him to hate the Coyotes as much as I do, even though I know if he's involved at all, it's purely a business thing/helping-out-his-son thing with no emotional connection to any region.
Trevling is a bay street type. They dont care about ROC.

On TV last week I was asked about the future of the# NHL Coyotes This exchange has led 2 some questions about my interest in buying the team

I want to be clear that I am not currently involved in any plan to buy the Coyotes and I do not have any information about their future.

So, is the "boycott" off?
What about the Boston Pizza tailgate at Jobing.com?
He sounded pretty damn confident the team would be in Phoenix next year, he also avoided the question about buying the team....if he had no interest in buying the team why wouldn't he just say so.

Jim Treliving, two others in final talks to buy Phoenix Coyotes
Three ownership groups — including one led by Canadian businessman Jim Treliving — are in the last-minute running to buy the Phoenix Coyotes from the National Hockey League and keep them playing in Glendale.
