It isn't worth trading up to get Yakupov from #2. Going from #2 to number 1 isn't worth giving up anything other than a 3rd round pick or a prospect like Savard or a NHL guy like Methot. If we can go #2 and Methot for #1 okay, but anything more and I'm happy with Murray at #2, just anybody but that Russian (I won't attempt to spell his name).

I like Murray, but I would rather have Forsberg. Any reason you want Murray so much? I think we could get defensemen later in the first that are better than the forwards who will be available.

I've watched a lot of Murray's games over the internet, I've never seen Forsberg can't comment on him at all.

I'm so steaming mad right now!! This entire year was for none now we get to take a 2nd tier Dman is a crappy draft. It was #1 or bust! TRADE THE PICK we could do better with a trade.

We don't need a dman right now, Murray wouldn't be able to crack the top 4 right now and they have a glut of young guys getting ready to play in the NHL. Plus, Wiz at 27 is the oldest guy in the top 4 so it's a very young group.

Trade the pick for a goalie, spend money on an NHL dman.

Defense is what the Jackets need anyway, Murray is the best of several D-men this draft... the next question is does he make the team next season? With Jack and Wiz around the CBJ D could be awesome.

Should be called the Edmonton overall pick.

Nice call. Just like a game from the first half of the season, we blew it late. 80% chance when it was us and the Oil. Lo.

my guess Edmonton is back in the lottery again next year and Columbus isnt.
Because the Blue Jackets will be in Seattle?

If anything I hope this force's Howson's dumb ass to make the rebuild from the backend out. Draft Murray and a solid goaltender with LA's pick and don't look back.

Don't worry boys... the Oilers are destined to fail. You get two straight #1s and there is no way you should be even in consideration for the #1 the following year. They will take Nail and he WILL be a bust. Saves you guys. Punishes the Oil for this.

My blood is boiling

This has got to be some sort of sick joke. This has been by far the most demoralizing season ever as a Jackets fan and just when we have a glimmer of hope, we get punched in the gut. This sucks.

In all seriousness Grigorenko could be a good fit on your team. He's a tall #1 playmaking center that could center Nash. Decent at faceoffs and highly skilled. He's all about points though, not much forecheck/backcheck

I prayed that the Jackets would get the first pick, but so be it. Does it really matter though? When this team has failed to draft and develop its own talent, picking first or second really does not matter. Look at Johannssen this year. Why wasn't he played more in a lost season? Until this organization learns to draft and develop its talent, it will always be a losing organization

That all depends on how much other clubs want him. I could see Montreal being interested, especially since his coach in the QMJHL is Patrick Roy.

If Montreal, NYI, or Toronto really wants Grigerenko, then the Jackets need to use that to get assets rather than selecting a player they can likely get if they trade down a few places.

Three first overalls in a row to the same team is ****ing disgusting and makes the league look like a total joke. Here's to hoping Edmonton can't afford to sign them all.

This just blows. But you know what? I expected it to happen. So, I want this team to do what it can with the pick. If someone in the draft is absolutely worth getting, go for it, but otherwise, I am not opposed to trading picks and stockpiling.

JMFJ
Wiz
Tyutin
Methot
Moore
Nikitin

Who would get bumped? Or would you put him in Springfield and let him compete with Savard to be the first callup when injury strikes?

Since the arena deal closed officially, this "joke" is pretty silly now. It was never amusing, now it's bordering on pathetic. Really don't need to ready stuff like this tonight.
