Does our pick play in the NHL next season

Well theres 3 options in the draft. We can win and get 1st, stay at 5 or someone eslse below us wins bumps us down to 6. So right now it seems unless its traded we can get anyone from Yakupov, Galchenyuk, Grigorenko, Forsberg or Faksa.

If we win and draft 1st, you must take Yakupov, but does burke or Carlyle play him. We have been seeing it in Edmonton and for the past couple years players drafted first overall come and play that season.

If we stay at five and the top 5 doesn`t change, i think the order goes,

Columbus-Yakupov
Edmonton-Murray
Montreal-Grigorenko
Islanders-Dumba
Toronto-Faksa, Galchenyuk or Forsberg

And i would belief two of those three will be there at 6.

So, if we draft one of them do we play them in the minors or do they play make the team out right

Yes because he's a top 5 pick and that means he's instantly the best player in the NHL because he's a pick of our wonderful Maple Leafs hockey club

Doubt it, not full time. Might get a look if they impress in camp.

Since we don't know who it is then the answer is obviously yes.

He will join Kessel and Kadri on the number one line and they will immediately all be 90 point players!

I think it's unlikely he will play, but it depends on who he is and where he is drafted.

Even if it's Murray I doubt he will see ice-time over the logjam we have. Only Yakupov will be in the line-up net year, if the Leafs can draft him.

Apparently Forsberg is the most NHL ready.

Whoever told you that was trollin', bud. His defense is a liability, and he needs to fill out his frame some.

was basing it on this (look at the photo caption):

I take things with a grain of salt though, so even if the Leafs drafted him I wouldn't expect it.

Nope.

Therefore the Leafs should do the right thing and tank for another year.

Yakupov or Murray are. Then a couple of people no one expected. The rest probably need seasoning.

Schenn was a stud in his first season with the leafs, and besides that he was probably the best dman the leafs had at the time. He has obviously struggled but he played great his first year.

As others have said though it will take something special for this year draftee to be starting as a maple leaf.

Burke starting a draft pick? I don't think so - even if it was Yakupov Burke would blabber on about how his prospects need seasoning in the AHL ... blah ... then we'd put Lombardi out for a skate instead.

Depends who it is. If we win the lottery, and draft Yakupov, then yes, he's ready. If we stay at 5 (or drop to 6), and draft Galchenyuk, then no, he should go back to the OHL. If we stay at 5/6, and draft someone else, then . . . depends on who else, and on what other moves we make. I don't think anyone but Yakupov would be a lock to make the team immediately, though.

Kadri was better then 70% of our forward core last year. No reason he shouldn't have started this year - except for Wilson that is.

Schenn is fine - just gave up playing Wilson's system - physically and mentally.

EDIT: Sry quoted wrong post
