If ANA is trying to move up in this years draft?

Let me start by saying I have no problem keeping 6th overall many speculate the talent drops off after where we're sitting. But Just trying to get a ball park figure to move up a few spots. Likely the 2-4 range.

Let's not have this thread go stupid crazy like our blueline being moved or our top 6 leaving for a simple two position swap. I'm really interested in Islanders proposals as I think we could definitely get something worked out.

How about Fowler or Ryan to get the Oilers pick?

Could you give examples? Just so we can try to be on the same ballpark?

I think it depends on who is on the board at #4.
Is their top choice likely to still be there at #6?

I don't see them trading down, if they think the Leafs or Ducks will draft their guy.

IF AND ONLY IF Columbus loses the lottery...

To Anaheim: 2nd overall, 31st overall.
To Columbus: 6th overall, Bobby Ryan.

Does that seem acceptable?

(The LA 1st can theoretically be substituted in instead, although I wouldn't want to under those circumstances.)

I agree we could do something around Ryan with Edm or Islanders. But Ryan being the centering piece for a 4 position swap is a bit crazy. We gotta get something else back.

As an Isles fan I'd prefer if they just held onto the pick.

They are in position to get a great player. Yes, they will still get a quality prospect at the 6th pick, but they will have less options and might have to settle rather than get the guy they really want. I really don't see Anaheim moving anything of significant value to move up 2 spots, so it's hard for me to see the incentive for the Isles here.

I wouldn't mind moving Ryan or prospects or even our 2nd as long as we did a draft pick swap and we got something in return. I'm trying to think of something that's an equal deal for both teams.

Do you have an idea on what you and other fans plan to draft at the 4 spot?

You still get a great player whether it's Forsberg/Dumba/Trouba what ever Snow needs. And If we could somehow include a 2nd and a prospect to move up a mere 2 positions that would be great.

You'd probably be able to move up to the 2nd pick with a package like that, depending on the prospect.

Our gm is saying no major trades.Imo he expects more consistency from our secondary scorers.Isles are not adding Ryan's $5m salary.
Snow likes to draft skilled forwards with his first rounders, but has shown if he's high enough on a defenseman,he'll draft him or try to.

He took De haan 12th over in 2009 and reportedly tried trading up in 2008,wanting Doughty ,Bogo or Pietranglo.

Could something be worked out around

To NYI
Bobby Ryan
Ana 1st 2012

To ANA
Nino
NYI 1st
Maybe another pick or prospect to even it out.

Even if we trade with anahiem for the 6th there are still several good options at D. I think Reilly or Rheinhart will be very good defencemen.

This is the only offer remotely close to fair value

Don't believe the Ducks would move any significant roster piece in order to move up. Thus, I don't think the Ducks would move up, the more likely scenario would be for the Ducks to move down.

That is a really steep price to move up four spots. I don't think we would consider that.

The only way that I see us packaging up Ryan and our 1st is for an established player. A four time 30 goal scorer and a top ten pick should bring that back easily. Hell, keeping our pick and moving Ryan separately should bring that kind of return.

I would only move Ryan for a positional swap and a piece we could use now. Not for picks.

We need centers. We have Holland in our pool who I "personally" think is a bust. And if we can restock at that position I would deem this draft as a success. And with the loss of Schultz in our d pool this would be another highly touted need.

We need center depth. We'd like to have a 2nd line center that can play with Bobby and DSP/Palmieri next season. That might be Holland, so I'm not sure that moving up is needed.
