The hockey gods have it in for us, we'll be drafting 5th like always.
Would love to win it for once.

Once? We've already won it twice.

I think odds are 22.6% chance we draft 5th but my gut tells me that is where we will land. There will still be a very good player there, so not concerned. Keeping my fingers crossed for #1.

Yes and one of the times we won we got DP, so sometimes when you win you lose in the luongo run, i mean long run

DP was a great pick, there has never been a more dedicated NYI and he's also the biggest help in Snowang's reverse cap circumvention.

Hoping for the best for the Isles, but God forbid if the Leafs win.

Pedro Cerrano wants a live chicken for some extra luck tonight for the Isles. It has also been reported that Jobu has been spotted around the NVMC.

well played...i thought you were gonna go the "white men cant jump route"...sometimes when you win, you really lose, and sometimes when you lose, you really win...and sometimes, when you win or lose, you really tie...
we won but lost in 2000...that set us back forever as were still under the DP cloud. We lost and lost bad last season...I like Ryan Strome, but damn would Larsson look good on our back end.

I try to mentally block out the whole DP Draft.
JT was a gift from the heavens, but we were like CBJ in 2009.
Third time's the charm?
I promise that I won't root for the Isles to get the #1 overall again... until next year.

Not at all bothered if we get the 5th pick this year.
This is a 6-man draft. Then a significant drop. As long as Garth doesn't decide to outsmart everyone with Teuvo Teravainen @ 5, we'll still get a great prospect.

It is very bad to steal Jobu's rum.

To be perfectly honest I would much rather have dropped a spot this year then last year. For all the people who want Islanders to take a defenseman I actually think a more likely chance we do at 5 then 4.

Imagine if Atlanta didn't lose the lotto to us in 2,000 and we didn't give it right back to them in 2001.....in essence, Bettman gave Milbury DiPietro and took Kovalchuk from us.

The way this season has gone... ie giving freebies to those players who were in unbelievable droughts... a la Gomez....we will get that homer 5th pick.

With the Islanders luck they'll win the lottery, but then Trevor Gillies will go to one of the Penguins playoff games and give Crosby a funny look making Bettman force us to surrender the pick
