That and we don't end up getting bumped to the 5th pick for the 2nd year in a row.
Thanks, guys, for the kind words.

EDM: Yakupov
CBJ: Grigorenko
MTL: Gally

Which leaves Ryan Murray to fall directly into our laps at #4. And Toronto fans whining like crazy because they didn't get a center.
Don't see the Jackets taking Grigs if they end up picking at #2. Thinking Murray, Galchenyuk, Forsberg (if they can't trade back a couple slots) or trade back a couple slots. Just my guess.

Short of the Isles winning, the next best (funniest) thing would be for the 9th place team to win and bump the Leafs down one slot.

If the Islander win the lottery what would they do?

A) Draft Yakupov
-Put him on the first line
-Keep or release Parenteau
B) Draft Murray

C) Trade 1st overall pick
- Acquire elite d-man/top 4 d-man

I think you'd need to at least put it out there to see what you could get. If we end up keeping it though we would have to take Yakupov. Even if you think someone else could become the better player it would be way too risky. You'd be crucified if you were wrong.

Easy. Draft Yakupov and put him on JT's wing for the next 10-15 years. This is exactly the type of dynamic, explosive scorer that we need!

The player I want most out of this draft is Murray, but if we get the 1st overall, they better take Yakupov.

I would think you put it out there but draft Yakupov if we don't get a boatload back. What would that #1 pick fetch back? Could we get a top 4 D and a top 10 1st round pick back? If not I keep the pick assuming that he is the special talent they say.

I would call San Jose as soon as the season ends and offer them the 1st overall for Brent Burns and their 1st(probably around 20th).

If they say no, then I'll happily take Yakupov.

So later if we aren't picking 5 or 4 when they show the picks then were one right? And yeah I'd keep yakupov and insert him directly on line 1 with JT

imagine you pass on yakupov, the guy who beat stamkos' record in juniors, and draft... well it doesnt really matter at that point, does it?

Almost lottery time

Please say a rosary, light a candle, or pour Jobu some rum (whatever your religious preference), we need all the help we can get. So we're either 1, 4, or 5 and of course 1 is the place to be. I just have a bad feeling that either toronto or montreal will "win" the lottery. I hate that we can't actually see the balls coming out of the machine (I guess deep down I am a conspiracy theorist). Additionally why do they have to use all thiose stupid 4 digit combinations, why not just the right amount of balls per team with their logo on it and the winner is the team that is drawn....

If we win the Lottery we should trade the pick too TOR and piss everyone off.....

to TOR #1 overall(Yakupov)

To NYI #5 overall,Schenn, and Blacker....

NYI isles get Schenn and Blacker both TOP 4 potential and at 5 have thier Choice of Grigorenko,Galchenyuk, or Forsberg.....

ummm no thanks.

Yakupov has shown all the signs that he will be an elite NHL talent. If we get the chance, we will take Nail and never look back.

Yep. If we see Toronto at 5, and then Montreal at 4, #1 is ours.

I feel the same about this. CBJ was supposed to be an alright team this year and kinda blew it.

We need the pick just as much as they do, and maybe even more. They have a fairly new building and probably realistically wont be moved anytime soon. We need another Tavares like talent to put us over the top and give us recognition again. If i were Columbus i wouldn't be that angry at getting 2 overall, it really isnt a bad consolation prize.
I PRAY we see monteral come up 4th tonight. This would be a huge boost to the franchise if this happens.

When the Islanders get the 1st pick in the lottery tonight look for Wang and Snow to do the Macarena and then the Watusi.
