I've been offered ridiculous prices, and bids for Finals tickets too. I never really believed they had that amount of money though, and even if they did I wasn't doing it!
One of my co-workers knew a few brokers back then and it was a connection where I got my yankee tickets through.
This was also the same guy who coached Lon Trost's kid's little league team back in the day.
Before the advent of internet secondary market, there was more to be made as the market was significantly narrowed. I tried to get tix versus the flyers at core states and those would have cost over 2,000 for 4.
The market is expanded now where broker does not have the tag "scalper" associated with it...thus you have individuals as well as brokers and the term scalper is now associated with guys who stand outside.
P4P, you weren't there and probably just an infant if anythibg, but there were people right after the turnpike exit holding signs looking for tickets risking getting ticketed as well as getting robbed.

Sure. You still didn't get offered $20k for a Devils ticket.
I only enjoy watching sports drunk if I'm at a bar. I don't like drinking when I'm going to the game. If I'm gonna spend $50 to go see a hockey game, I'd rather enjoy it.

Me too I'm the same. I don't know how many times I've even drank a beer at a hockey game. Had to be really craving one from the smell or something. I don't drink much, but never drink the domestic stuff.
I did threaten to drink hard liquor for some of those games. I was tossing the idea back, and forth of running to the liquor store during both the Colorado, and Calgary games during the 1st intermission this year.
