I really thought that after two #1 picks, they would finish higher than bottom two. But, here they are again.

Also, from the main board:

And apparently "Poor Columbus" is trending worldwide on Twitter. LOL

Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins, Hall, and Yakupov as a core moving forward could potentially be ridiculously good.

Now Edmonton has to figure out who to put on the top line.

They're all pretty pissed on the Columbus board. I sent them our condolences.

I wanted Toronto to win...but am really just as happy we didn't move down.

Other than that...I was just hoping that anyone but Edmonton would win it!

Are you talking about Toronto or Chicago when you say "we"? Chicago couldn't move down, as no one in the playoffs were eligible to win the Lottery.

As to Edmonton winning it.. right before he said the Oilers won, I had a funny feeling they would. What a stupid little grin on Tambalini's face.

If he keeps the pick.. good luck trying to find a centre who can play with the likes of Eberle or Yakupov.. because they can't both play with RNH.

Why not? - just b/c of their position or is it something else? I thought Yakupov could play both RW and LW>

They will be scary if they can add some defense and goaltending within a few years.

Hall plays LW.. I doubt he's going to move and Eberle/RNH have shown great chemistry all season.. besides, from the 7 or so Sarnia games I've seen this year, Yakupov plays RW pretty exclusively.

Point being, one of these "stars" is going to going from a PpG centre in RNH to a 40ish point centre in Gagner.

Yea, that's what I said last season before RNH with Omark in the minors, and look what that got them. Still 2nd from the bottom.

I think their problem is that they have some great young skill forwards. A lot of them actually. But no real team defense. Their defense blows and their forwards don't exactly play the checking game that well. Those kids are all skill/offense.

Felt bad for Columbus. It's a bit shameful that Edmonton has gotten the #1 so many times and is still terrible. They better make the playoffs next season, or they need to nuke their coaching and management from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

That's not even fair that they get Yakupov. On the plus side at least he's not in the division.

You don't think they unload Gagner?

What a joke! A team should be thrown out of the lottery if they've won it the two years before.

The Blue Jackets fans must be on the brink of a mass suicide. That franchise is cursed.

How could they? Then Shawn Horcoff would be your 2nd line centre. He's something like -60 since his 73 point breakout year after the lockout and hasn't broken 40 points since 08-09.

I can't believe the deal Horcoff's got...it's so horrible for the Oilers. I'm shocked he's the captain, too...that's not a very good example for the rest of the team. I wonder whether his teammates actually take him seriously. But yes, you're right he doesn't need to be promoted to 2nd line centre.

Maybe the Oilers would be better trying to deal the pick...Toronto would probably want it...although, I don't know if Toronto really has desirable players to give up,

The lucky ********.

If there ever was a formula to be a dynasty in the cap era, Oilers have it. Maybe they need Gretz, Mess and Coffey to return and tell them how it's been done before.

I know right? You come along such tear-producing motion pictures such as Wile E. Coyote Has a Bad Day and Whitney Houston. We're sorry for your loss, Columbus fans.
