I was reading the Montreal boards, and most are convinced they will be getting Galy. Someone posted that they watched Grigs and he played very floaty and lazy.
I have a feeling it might go Yak, Grigs, Galy.
So a MTL fan watched Grigo play and thinks he's a floater and stuff? I think I'd take scouts opinions over an MTL fan. They'll pick Grigo. Especially if they are going to name Roy as their GM, he'll definitely draft a player he's very close to.
The poll is who will be available, not who you like the most. Personally I think that Galchenyuk will be gone by the time we pick and we may be stuck in a dilemna in deciding whether to pick 1 of the top 2 defensemen in the draft or the 4th best forward which looks to me like it will be Forsberg IMO.
I live in Halifax and just got home from the Mooseheads game, i know its just one game but god I don't want Grigorenko anymore. This is the only game iv seen him play(going to tomorrows game too) but he was 100% invisible, my wife was even like "I think there is something wrong with him hes just coasting around, maybe he got hurt" I really could see Kovalev in him. if i was a scout i would have not put him in the top 20 players in tonight's game.
This was game 3 of the second round of the playoffs
Have any of you guys seen him play because I have read that he will play a game like this and then play great another game?
if i was a scout i would have not put him in the top 20 players in tonight's game.
I already warned people that Grigorenko had Alexei Kovalev syndrome (all skill, no will) or at least a mild case of it.
I haven't been able to find much in the way of highlights for Murray. I find that odd for such a high level prospect. What makes him so special and would he be a defender who could step right into our top six?
I am pretty certain the Oilers will just draft, and I am very sure they will take Yak.
But after that I have no idea what happens.
Going by the rankings, Grigerenko, Murray, and either Galchenyuk or Forsberg should be gone.
The wild cards:
1. where does Forsberg compare to the North American skaters
2. will any of the teams go against BPA and pick a forward or D -- nobody here would have any knowledge about that
3. trades on draft day -- again impossible to predict that
4. Does Glachenyuk's injury scare teams off
I can see a lot of things happening. If Burke likes a guy like Faksa or even Gaunce, and thinks he can move down a couple slots and get another asset, he might do that.
But if all forwards are picked 1-4, and Murray is still available, maybe you go after him. Although since most scouts have him in the top 3, I dont see him slipping to us.
I would love to be able to get Grigorenko at #2, but I dont think Columbus has any reason to deal with us. I mean who knows what the Habs and Isles do.
The more I think about it, the more I think Burke is looking at picking Dumba or Trouba with the 5th pick, or trade down for them. These guys play the prototypical Burke style of hockey and have a high ceiling. I'm probably leaning towards him wanting Trouba.
Toronto will be drafting a D man. Don't be surprised to see Burke move this pick.
I highly doubt Murray doesn't go in the top four, but if no one takes him then he'd be a great addition, especially if we can add Schultz on top of that in the summer. That would be a pretty awesome d-core moving forward.
The other thing is most people think we will draft a centre, because we need a #1 centre. But its highly unlikely that anyone we draft this June will be in the lineup this October. So either way, its a pick for the future, which means we are just as likely to take a d-man vs a centre.
