Playoff Atmosphere

If anyone has ever been to a playoff game, what is the intensity like? I have been to about 10-15 Panthers regular season games and the intensity is moderate, I love the rush when they score a goal though. I would have to assume the place will be booming come Friday. Hope it is a good one, because I am really relying on it.

I have been to ONE Panther playoff game. The atmosphere was electric. Pavel Bure was the only one to score for us at that game, and when he did, the whole place went insane. I lost partial hearing for about 48 hours. My voice was gone for almost a week.

I've been to several Dolphins playoff games and they were no where near the intensity of the Panther game. I believe part of it is because the BAC is an enclosed space...no where for that energy to go. You feel the hair on your arms raise up. It is someone everyone should experience at least once in their life.

Since it's been over a decade since we've seen playoffs, I expect it to be even more intense. Can. Not. Wait!!

I went to a Bruins-Lightning playoff game last year. It was amazing. I can only imagine how much better it would be to be rooting for the home team.

Same here, except I was rooting for Tampa. It was quite the atmosphere. The intro videos had everyone going nuts. When the team came out, everyone went nuts. They fell behind early but rallied, and with each goal the top blew off the building a little bit more. Little plays like a questionable icing seem huge. Can't wait to experience it for our team in a few days.

I was at one home game for each series in 1996, including seeing Jovo destroy Eric Lindros coming across the blue line as well as Lindsay's goal vs. the Bruins. Miami Arena was a whole different level of intense.

I don't expect the same kind of intensity at BAC. It's just different. If it happens, hey that'll be great, but it will definitely be unexpected.

Man, I am excited. This is going to be the first time I might have my eardrums blown off at the BAC. Will be a great night, I know that.

The Bank was electric in 2000 when we las made the playoffs, but just do to the size and seating arrangement of the Miami Arena, you cant compare the two. The Bank was packed and the fans were crazy when the Panthers won seven in a row a few years ago, so expect a circus come Friday.

You mean the place that was a morgue until Tallon rebuilt the franchise into a Stanley Cup winner?

I've been to one of the loudest, if not the loudest arena in Finland a bunch of times during the playoffs. The atmosphere is electric to say the least.

There's always someone who feels it necessary to belittle our success. South Florida fans haven't seen playoffs in over a decade, and this is what you choose to post?

Preseason games are no where near the intensity of playoff games and you know it.

i was at a regular season game in 2006 in chicago before all the bandwagoners like the chicago poster above jumped on board. The team happened to be playing atlanta. Ive never been to a quieter arena for a national hockey league game in my entire life. It made a panthers game in 2006 sound like a home game in winnipeg.

Just...please start throwing rats after every goal.

It would make me so happy. I might die a little inside from the nostalgia overload.

Screw the rules....its the playoffs!

I went to Game 1 of the '97 series against the Rangers (yes, the last playoff game that we won). I was only 13 at the time, but I'll never forget how damn loud the Miami Arena was. Of course being that it was a 3-0 shutout the crowd was so into it and they were taunting Richter the entire time. I don't expect it to be the same loudness at the BAC, but for team making the playoffs for the first time in 12 years, I'd expect it to be pretty crazy. I can't wait two more days. The anticipation is killing me!

I would suggest going to Sweden and see a local derby between the Stockholm teams (can't remember the names, our swedish posters should be able to help).

No harm taken, its all good.

Clueless means I have no basis for that statement.

I've been to heat final games lst row.

I've been to gmen playoff games.

I've been to Yankee playoff and world series games including as a teen watching chambliss walk off.

so I thiink I have a basis for my opinion, a clue so to speak. It is admittedly a subjective one.

None of the above, for sustained loudness, compares to the noise I heard in the Rags 94 run.

The constant noise is a different level than any other sport at least here in the US.

IMHO.
