Amazing season for the Wings draftee.

The last goal was scored with 1 minute left in game 7 to secure the league championship.

I didn't realize he had a goal per game, honestly.

If you've seen Mantha play live, the first thing that jumps out, to me anyway, is his size. He looks like a man playing with boys. Mantha looks NHL ready to me, his size, obviously he can score, he's more than ready to be a pro next season.

That being said, it IS Detroit, so I would not be shocked to see him spend a season in Grand Rapids.

Mantha had a great season and playoffs. It will interesting to see how he does in the Memorial cup.

He's got the size. I'm not sure if his speed has caught up yet.

I think he at least starts the season in the AHL. It is Detroit we are talking about.

There's just something about the guy that made me feel as if he wasn't ready for the NHL yet.

Impressive feat. I think a year in Grand Rapids would still do him good. He's been playing like a man amongst boys , the guys are going to be older, faster and a lot bigger next year.

Could have easily gotten a hat-trick tonight. Detroit with another steal.

Detroit won't rush the kid. Give him some time down in the AHL as they did with Jurco.

He is a deceptive player. His stats obviously don't lie but quite honestly after seeing him play live several times and on tv as well, aside from his size much of the time I found him to be unremarkable on the ice, not a standout player.

i have said it before and i will say it again....unbelievable scorer...total offense from blue line in.....that being said he is probably one of the worst star players i have watched in 20 yrs of q hockey in the defensive zone and neutral zone...great offensive IQ and terrible Def IQ....there will be no in between for this kid...he learns the game he will have an amazing future..if he doesnt he will flounder in the AHL - watch during playoffs and MEM Cup last one back in play first one out of the zone imo
