Dirty and stupid have long been synonymous with NHL playoffs. When im taking into consideration all the playoff hockey I've watched over the years this play doesn't even register. In a league where every time a hit leads to someone falling down its examined as a potential suspension I guess I understand why everyone gets their junk in a bunch. I would normally just expect Detroit to hammer weber a few times, maybe fight him.

Didn't take Marchand long to start causing trouble. This should be a pretty chippy series.

Nice hands by Callahan on that goal.

I don't know how I've lasted this long without ever having NHL Network, but I'm convinced it's a miracle.

Good thing it doesn't appear that much is happening (based on this thread's low activity level), as I'm stuck working on this stupid project in the library again...

That was weird. Both Boyles scored at almost the exact same time. Brian in New York, Dan in St. Louis

Boston vs Washington is getting chippy. That should surprise nobody.

All I can say, and I can't believe I'm saying it is, "Let's go Caps".

I feel like I keep switching between games only to miss all the good plays and scores. I guess I should just pick one, and only switch during intermission.

I finally figured out my rankings of both conferences in order of preference about each team winning:
East:
Flyers
Senators
Capitals
(big drop off)
Penguins
Devils
Rangers
Bruins
Panthers
West:
Chicago
St. Louis
Nashville
Phoenix
San Jose
Los Angeles
Detroit
Vancouver

So the Caps fight their way into the playoffs, hoping this year is the year they prove they're not chokers.
Then they promptly get outshot 26-7 in the first two periods of Game 1.
SEVEN shots? Really?

It's just mind trickery, that's all. Now they'll take like 30 shots in the third period, right?

What a save by Crawford at the end of the first. 2 seconds left in the period, two guys left all alone in front, Hanzel with the shot, Crawford with the great glove snag.

Neither team is going to give. This game (and possibly the series) is going to be decided by a flukey bounce.
