Okay, I get that people hate Horcoff and he's not that good anymore. But saying he should give up his number after over 10 years with the org to a rookie...

I think #10 should be his number. If he can't have it because of Shawn Horcoff, he could wear #18, which looks a lot like #10 and was originally worn by his agent, Igor Larionov, when he played for the Canucks. Igor mentored Bure and had a lot to do with Pavel's early years in the NHL.

I was thinking 18 just because that was the percent chance we had of winning the lottery! Haha

I dunno. Not too classy guys.
Are you joking?
Lowe gave Hall his number 4 and we all know what Lowe has done for the Oilers. A hell of a lot more than Horcoff ever will.
I think he will go with #21 like he did in the WJC. Pretty ridiculous to ask our captain to give up his number to a rookie, regardless how bad Horcs is.
Lowe also wasn't playing for the Oilers at the time.
Seriously people. It's getting ridiculous around here.
Actually veterans who are playing have quite often in the past given up their numbers to young players with star potential. It's usually just "I'm not too attached to it, and I wanna make him welcome/encourage him." kind of thing. It's not ridiculous, although I wouldn't be upset if Horc kept his number either.
RNH wore a different number in junior, so not like Nail would be set on 10. I like 18 as it has been pointed out that it a) looks like 10 and b) was hte percent chance of Edmonton drafting him.
