Horcoff is just as useless as Belanger, but one gets paid 6X more.

is there a rule in the NHL that would prevent him from wearing #100?

Unfortunately I think there is, but 100 would be just as epic as 1

Ok, why not 01? Seriously, I think he goes with 21, like he did with the WJC.

i think we should maybe just draft Yakupov and then ask him, hey what number would you like to wear?

it may be a bit of a turnoff if he gets bombarded with "you have to wear this number because the fans know larionov had it and ,....."

Since he's a Bure fan, I think 96 would look pretty sick.

I like that reason

(closer to 19 though)

...if Yakupov was playing rush end for the Eskimos. As long as he chooses one from among the Oilers' available hockey numbers, I'll be happy.

He will pick a hockey number which falls between 1 and 98 (since 99 is no longer available). Gotta love people who think 96 is not a hockey number but 99 was ok to have.

I've also seen Yakupov wearing 20 as a jersey number. Do we have someone wearing 20?

Give him #85...maybe he'll score some clutch goals like Klima used to....on the other hand he might turn into another Liam Reddox.

Win, win situation.
Wishful thinking., Nobody will take Horcoff, but Horcoff can still wear 10 in Oklahoma and Yakupov keep his 10 with the Oilers
Win win situation

Gotta love people who get all pi$$y and condescending when someone has an opinion that's different than theirs. I'm old school about this and always have been. Before Gretzky's first home game as an Oiler the program said he'd be wearing #20. I was actually unhappy when he came out wearing #99. For some reason, I learned to live with it- eventually.

Wow. Really? I've never heard anyone say that about Gretzky's number.

The most epic number ever. But that's just me.

I think that Yakupov should wear.... #21. I think it's a good number for a player like him.

I like one of 3 numbers...
96 because he idolizes Bure
98 a number that I haven't seen yet (is there a #98 in the league) and we can only pray he is almost as great as Gretzky.
OR 21 not so much because he wore 21 at the WJC but more so because this will be his age when he wins his first Stanley Cup with the Oil!

1983 NHL Draft, Brian Lawton drafted first overall wearing number 98, bad idea.
