Cammalleri had a huge ego!! He was obviously a problem in the dressing room because the team played better immediately after he was traded. Its a great thing that he is gone and whatever he wants to say to the media to make the Habs look bad should be completely ignored!!

Good riddence to a player that quit on his hockey team!!
Do you have anything to substantiate this claim? I swear, people believe everything they're told.

So, 6 pages and nobody bothered clicking the link? And what do you know, the only google result is this thread, and a yahoo article created yesterday clearly just pulling from here, as it includes the same wrong link.

Did you read the article? Hickey (in typical Hickey hack-ishness mind you) talks about the lottery, some of the top prospects, and then suddenly jumps back to the day Cammalleri was traded and mentions the trade and jersey anecdote.

Hahaha, nice, my ADD shows. But I still can't find the original Calgary Herald source. This was only posted today, and it quotes the Gazette article verbatim.

Cammalleri's old jersey? Who would want it but Cammalleri himself?

Is there seriously 6 pages about this?

Yes we know PG was classless. He has been fired. Move on.

loser u say?

Cammy played like a loser...
Cammy called the Habs way 'Loser' ...
Cammy was shipped out between periods like a loser.

Cammy must of felt like a real loser when he was told...

No jersey for you!

The six pages were not about the jersey. It was about wishing him a not so fond farewell.

I feel like his comments were misinterpreted by a lot of people. He never insulted the organization or his teammates.

On the whole Cammy thing... even if you're right, it was the most unclassy thing that we could do and it reflects poorly on the organization. We shouldn't lower ourselves to this and the more I learn about PG the less I like him.

The Canadiens have always had the reputation of being a first class organization. That reputation has slipped away and we need to get it back. Firing PG was a great first step in that direction.

This is called theft, and if the organization takes tabs of $600 products, they will notice it is missing. It is not a good idea for someone like Cams to steal things, as it will reflect on him badly.

I do think that a player who plays for the Habs could get to keep either their first or last jersey, if they ask for it. You play for the team, you want memories. When I played sports, I paid for my own jersey, so of course I got to keep it. But, in a large business like the NHL, I'm sure they can make this sacrifice.

Of course, like other posters have said: Cams could have bought it, so why didn't he? It isn't like he would have felt a ding to his wallet.

So, who cares. The organization can afford to give it to him; the player can afford to buy it. I'm not going to cry or scream over either of these rich entities minor irritations.

So stop worrying about simple stuff, and go pick up a book, and learn something of use.

But they saw it that way. The whole thing was so blown out of proportion it's not even funny. If someone like Gorges said it we'd hear about how he was a true leader and how he was the Habs true captain.

Agreed, you wouldn't needlessly burn a bridge like that in any business dealings. At least I wouldn't, why?

Just received a hand written letter from Geoff Molson and my jersey from last game as a hab. Much appreciated thank you. Merci

Very professional and kind gesture by Molson.

I still can't believe that P.Gauthier did that to Cammalleri. I had nothing against PG, but now I'm just glad that he's gone.

It's good to know that Molson has some class unlike Gauthier.

If I owned a team and my GM acted disrespectfully the way PG did in this instance and many others there would be hell to pay. I would've been verbally abusive for sure. I still can't believe Molson let PG get away with all the disrespectful moves but at least he's doing something to correct past mistakes.

That was until they hired PG and JM. Then they went to the bottom.

I hope that someone was watching PG when he packed his office. I wouldn't want him taking anything, a pen, NOTHING! Just GTFO!

I am glad to see that. That replaces some of the lost lustre this organization lost because of PG's napoleon complex.

I feel Molson was taking this season to evaluate 1st hand the direction of the management team and likely made up his mind after the three moves PG made that just didn't look right (Pearn, JM and Camm).

Now we wait and see what direction Molson puts this team on.

the fact molson had to write a hand-written apology makes it seem like it wasn't even oversight but simply a douchy move on the part of douch-nozzle Gauthier

nice gesture
