TBH, i'm more annoyed that he didn't get anything for his return. A video tribute or something. They had the short vid of him during cancer up during anthem but I expected more.

He'd need to pack it, which is probably more effort than he's willing to give.

Koivu did say that he also thought it was the right time to part his way with the Habs.

I don't know, 'packing it in' seems to come naturally for him

Unforunately but it was for the best. Saku didn't need an entire career of crap. Better situation for him and his family in california.

Yeah, but he also said before they let him go that he'd like to stay. After they let him go, then he said well maybe it's for the best. I'm sure in many ways he was relieved to go to California and play in anonymity, but I'm sure the competitor in him would have wanted to win something in Montreal first.

They should have give it to him since the only sane person who would want a Cammalleri jersey is Cammalleri himself.

That was my first read on it, too. I mean, the "public" believes that he should have, but reality is a bit different. In the world of business men like Molson, the only "should haves" involve either financial or legal repercussions - and neither really relates to Cammy's ordeal. Since influence from anything else (public opinion - imagine if GMs fired coaches every time a chant got started in the stands??) could have been perceived as "weakness", I think Molson deserves at least some credit for simply doing what he should have without make a big deal, and despite not "having to".

Glad Molson saw it the way most fans saw it; "It's a ****ing jersey. Christ's sake, let him have it."

His situation is the same thing then being dump by your girlfriend, you do everything for her for the last 10+ years and she dumps you for a ********* (Gomez). What are you going to say? Hey,I got dumped and I feel like ***** after doing so much for this franchise (girl) Nah! He's going to do like anybody would do in this type of situation and say that his life is better and he's happy about the move.

Koivu was legend for this team and it's a pure slap to his face the move that Uncle Bob pulled on him!

We're talking the richest sports franchise in all of sports and they won't give him his jersey? That's unreal. Who hired Gauthier anyways?

We are one of many, of the richest sport franchises...behind the Yanks only, we are the most storied franchise....

Anyhow, the whole Gauthier and jersey thing, brutal...every player on his way out the door, whether it's good or bad as far as the details to that departure, should be leaving with his jersey...end of story. I was not a fan of Cammy this past season, I really felt he was mailing it in so to speak, except his PP chances...but no way that should have happened...glad that PG is gone, the Habs organization is better than that...

That's not necessarily a quality and it's something that can deeply hurt this franchise.

Having said that, I trust that he while he may be listening, he's not acting to satisfy the fans but for the good of the team, two separate monsters here.

They've been tring to manage the team without any consideration for the fans, and haven't really done an outstanding job. I think that there is a grey area between always giving fans what they want vs not giving them anything they want, especially with the way they failed this year.

I could be wrong, but something tells me that the lack of success is a hockey personnel problem more than an owner listening or not to the fans.

He even washed the jersey himself before packing it and sending it to Cammy...

Little by little the wounds created by Goat are getting healed. I bet 20 years from now we'll still hear new stuff that Gauthier did as GM of the Habs(and before).

I'm not PG apologist, but having the players buy their own game used jersey not a PG decision. I would be akin to me being layed off at my job, and saying "Hey boss-man, I really have a fond attachment to my monitor, mind if I take it?" Because of "rules" put in place, out of my managers control, he'd say "Piss off, buy it and it's yours."
I'm gonna be honest, as a GM I would pay the ****ing 600$ and give the player the jersey. It's respectful and it keeps you on good terms with a player.
