Yep he was the final pick and Ovechkin was left off entirely.

I'd say about 75% of their entire picks came from the eastern conference. Half of them will be screwed if Philly wins.

5-2 Wings.
That would be excellent, but at this point I'm just praying for any IT for Conner.

No Z? Isn't he the playoff scoring leader since the lockout or is it Marleau?

So exciting to see Red Wings hockey again. I'm back from a three-day trip and this time it really does feel good to be back home.

Really awesome that Helm's back in action tonight. I somehow feel that we're gonna win, despite the crappy road record. We've got a lot of playoff experience, something the Preds lack. I hope and think Rinne will melt down.

Open the floodgates. Go !

Nope, just if they're young players.

Honestly, i think we will know how this series is going to end just by game 1. We will either see March/April Wings or pre injury Wings. If the latter shows up, Wings will win this series rather comfortably.

The TSN Fantasy Draft was a joke.
I can't believe I watched the entire thing...

I laughed so hard, when Crawford took Datsyuk as the final pick...

as shocked as I am that, he is the only Red Wing... I can see why no one else decided to take any Red Wing players...

Hopefully this Pokes the Bear an wakes up Detroit.

I'd like to see the Wings win comfortably, if not just b/c it's probably ideal for an older team w/ some injury issues to play as few PO games as possible each round. Even if we see the pre-injury Wings, I don't think we'll coast to a series win, though- I think the Preds match up well and their speed will give us trouble, not to mention that they have the top D pairing in the series. We won't win if our special teams don't improve greatly from the regular season, so hopefully that picks up. I think it's going 7, and if I was Wilbon on PTI doing Oddsmakers, I'd "push"... but maybe give Detroit a slight edge due to the PO experience factor.

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking of Julien playing Marchand in a top 6 role last year for the B's, and Torts playing Hagelin in the top 6 for the NYR this season, among others. It seems insane that we had to be worried that Gus might be scratched given how well he played down the stretch for us, and I think Smith should be our #6 D to start the PO's. Giving heavily preferential treatment to vets over young players is the safe way to coach to avoid criticism from the media- if you lose, you lost w/ your experienced guys on the ice and didn't take risks w/ young players. Helps to have a SC in your back pocket, also. Not saying Babs is a bad coach, just very reluctant to play young guys.

Nyquist isn't going to sit.

I think Smith is going to be great, but there's nothing wrong with playing our top 6 defense to start, Smith was good but he wasn't so good to not give Babcock a choice but to bench Quincey. That's the thing about depth, its a good problem to have.

Watching "analysts" talk about Nashville being the favorite really has riled me up for this one. Love how Suter/Weber are expected to just shut down all our offense. Not to mention Rinne and Howard have nearly identical save %'s and GA averages.

3 more hours.

I like the wings are the underdog, it could benefit the Wings a lot.
I think the media hypes the Preds to spice up the series. I think the hockey experts see the Wings as the clea favourite, but ...

Anyhow, I won't watch the game live. I'll watch the replay tomorrow.

But it is easy to predict how the game will be played. The Preds/Trotz will try to suffocate the Wings, so the game might be boring. Trotz will try to winn 2-1. The Wings have to be patient and smart and we will win.

JV and the Tigers blowing the game today in the 9th pissed me off...I want a good end to my Wednesday and spoil home ice for the Preds and put them on notice. A Game 1 win for a road team always sends shockwaves. Nashville is SUPPOSED to win tonight...we'll see about that.

GO WINGS!

I didn't say that. I'm assuming Babs will make the right decision and Nyquist is in for Emmerton.

I hope Nyquist/Conner in, Cleary/Emmerton out. But Cleary is in.

In the first game, on the road, we have absolutely nothing to lose. Pavel and Henrik, please work your magic.

Still 2,5 hours left before a puck drop.

Most of the analysts are picking Preds, hope that it will spark Wings!
Hopefully Wings will play like they played during that home winning streak.

LET'S DO THIS!

I don't get that station, but I could probably paraphrase......"STOP BELIEVING!"

What was the old AM radio station the wings were on? I used to get it tuned in northwest of Toronto.
