Ducks draft board #2

Yeah...no way Yakupov was losing that one. Okay Yakupov is the only player off the board, who should Anaheim draft?

1.) Nail Yakupov 100%

Mikhail Grigorenko..

Love him or hate him he has ridiculous tools and the size you covet in a center! Grigs without question for me!

It was between Murray and Galy for me, tough call. The 'effort' issue with Grigs doesn't suit this team with all the complaining with Getzlaf already on board. I went with Galy as a top notch center is harder to find imo.

If it was the Ducks, I'd take Grigs first.

If it was the Jackets, I think they go with Grigs or Murray, too close to call though.

Personally I say Gally. Only watched one game of the Sarnia Saginaw series and I've watched three Quebec games. The difference in the drive and effort of both players is apparent. Not to say Grigorenko doesn't care/try, Galchenyuk fights more though. He played that game with more intensity than anyone on the ice. It was one game, but I'm higher on alex for sure.

Murray & Fowler is a blueline that well carry a franchise far we already have a good forward group of prospects and remember that RPG should bounce back

Grigo. Have to think he is the next forward gone after Nail. Don't see us taking Murray if we were at #2.

The more and more video I watch the more excited I get about Grigorenko's game.

It's so cliché to say.. Yakupov -> Ovechkin, and Grigorenko -> Malkin... It's Russian 101 but in my eyes the way the play the game are uncannily similar.

Grigorenko's frame, stride and hands scream Malkin to me. The way he controls the game is unparalleled IMO..

I would be hugely disappointed if he were available and the Ducks passed.

I think Grigs will go top 7 ,but I hope the Ducks stay clear (I'm just not comfortable with what I've heard about his work ethic).

From everything I have seen and read, Grigorenko is the best player available. You don't pass on that type of talent if it's available. The work ethic concerns have been blown out of proportion.

Work ethic and compete level questions are the kiss of death for me. It's why I didn't like the Holland pick. And why I like Perry better than Getzlaf.

Yet despite that I think they're overblown with Grigorenko. Let me put it this way. Typically if there are question marks like that the various scouting reports will either say it's bad or say nothing. But in Grigorenko's case I seem to see conflicting reports, with some saying it's bad and some saying it's good. That makes me think it's not that true. Maybe it's not a strength, but I don't think it's a negative.

You do if it only shows up every once in a while. That is already this team's biggest problem. No need to add to it. Although I highly doubt he is available at 6 anyway.

I say Galchenyuk.

I'm OK with Dumba. I'm naturally a little wary of the flashy guys. Big shot, big hits. Sometimes that gets overrated.

Dumba is not a do-not-draft. I'm not sure I really have a do-not-draft this year. Which is a little unusual. The closest is Galchenyuk. Who I actually like, but I worry about the lost year of development. I just wouldn't take him say at 2 before Grigorenko. At 6th I'd be happy as a pig in ****.

The original premise of this poll series is that the player IS available. So you should vote as if Grigorenko is still on the board.

Realistically I can only imagine Forsberg or Dumba being there at 6. I'd be cool with both of them.

It's my opinion that any one of these 6 should be one of the guys we pick

Yakupov, Grigorenko, Galchenyuk, Murray, Forsberg, Dumba.
+
Trouba and Reinhart.

Anyway I'll post the new poll in a few. Remember, when you vote you aren't voting on who should go first, second, or third overall. A draft board is a list of players in order of importance and value to an NHL team.

I didn't say that, i said i wouldn't rank him above 8 in my draft board. There comes a point where talent wins out over concerns and at his about 8 for me.

Yakupov
Murray
Galchenyuk
Forsberg
Dumba
Trouba

Actually building a board i would have him 7th. But some team will take him before us so it shouldn't matter anyways.
