woops, sorry i didnt notice this was already mentioned in the GDT. Im just so pumped that my favorite player is back into the line. Helm brings so many assets to the third line.
I'd rather Have Bertuzzi dropped to the 3rd line, Nyquist to the 1st line, then Cleary to the 4th, but none the less great news for the Red Wings as long as he's not to sore and won't injure his knee anymore.

nyquist will get destroyed by weber and suter. they are a nasty pair and he doesn't have the size or strength yet to cycle against those two. id start with bert and if it doesn't work out try nyquist.

I agree
Also with us not having choice of match-ups its better to have Nyquist in the bottom six so we can generate offence against Nashville's weaker lines and 3rd D pairing.
God I hope he's ready to go and not just being rushed because we're terrified of what will happen with Emmerton on the 4th line.
At this point it doesn't matter. If he's 'rushed' back 2 days early and he re-injures himself to the point that he can't play anymore this season - that means he wasn't anywhere close to being ready.
The lineup (and Drew Miller) is so much better with Helm in there. Hopefully he still has his speed/skating and they can wreak havoc on Nashville's bottom D with their forecheck.
Well, I figured I would post this here as I did not see any talk on it elsewhere.
Anyway, I just heard during the LA/VAN 1st intermission that Helm is currently in surgery for a skate laceration on his arm (I believe it was). Unsure on the severity of the injury and I cannot remember if the word "emergency" was used.
Hopefully it isn't too bad, but he may be gone for a couple games or more.
edit: And of course now I see a billion posts on it, ok overstatement but you know what I mean.
And it was such a fluke thing, too. What's worse is that it happened to Modano last year. How many teams have had guys get their wrists slit by skate blades in two consecutive years?
Hey guys, Rangers fan here, heard about the Helm wrist injury. Any news on how bad it was? I got pretty freaked out when I heard it, those can be some gruesome injuries (i.e. Donald Audette).

All we know is that it was serious and he had surgery tonight.
Doesn't look hopeful he will be playing again this season.
I hope that Helm isn't hurt too bad. I want Detroit healthy so they can take care of Nashville before the Hawks might have to face them. Also hope Z is OK after the Weber thing.
I think these types of skate slash injuries scare me worse than anything. We lost Bryan Bickell to a wrist cut during our series against Vancouver last year which was bad because he was doing so well. He also needed surgery but he made a recovery in the offseason.

yikes, terrible to hear. You guys have a strong team, I'm sure you'll rally in his absence, but that's terrible news for Helm. Absolutely love him as a player, does all the same things that make Ranger fans love Ryan Callahan. Hope he comes back soon.
It pretty much kills their chance now that they become a 3 line team. I like to be optimistic, but can't say I'm very hopeful going forward. We'll see, maybe one of the rookies will make a surprise impact ala 2008 Helm.
If I'm Babcock, next game Emmerton is scratched and our bottom six is Cleary-Nyquist-Miller, Mursak-Abdelkader-Holmstrom. We need more speed on the bottom six and Emmerton is useless.
