I remember last year when the Bruins went down 1-0 to Montreal, BCBruin an insider here stated...

I think Thomas is a better goaltender now because he has nothing left to prove, he can focus on stopping pucks. There is no more referendum on his ability or career, Thomas is the best goaltender for the Bruins I have ever seen. While he did have a rough patch in the middle of the season (who didn’t on this team?), I feel better this year with Thomas playing high pressure games than I did last year.
D played big too, they deserve a lot of credit as well
I love Zanon's ability to make the simple play without having to think about it first. Puck is front of my net? Automatic. The puck is pushed to a low-risk area of the ice.
Maybe that is a compliment that sounds backhanded. But it's amazing to me how that simple kind of play is so difficult for so many. Zanon swallows a rebound, self-pass off the back boards behind the net, he turns and the puck is in transition. There are a lot of players that instead of knocking that puck out of danger first, will try to turn with it and get burned (see AOF's fave Tom Gilbert for nightly examples of this).
I know... Off topic.
Tim Thomas was a solid beast tonight. Didn't have to do much, but what does that matter? When there was a big save to be made, he made it. And every other save looked confident and aggressive. Absolutely no reason in the world that this team can't ride Timmy to glory again this post-season. He plays like he did tonight, every night... They most certainly will.
The way Tim was tracking the puck like he did tonight was great to see. I would never expect him to repeat what he did last spring but you never know with him. I would love to see a Thomas/ Lundqvist showdown in the latter rounds that's for sure.
It was a great defensive game by everyone, Thomas made a few key saves but didn't need to stand on his head in this one. Loved baby Z last night, he was awesome every pass was on a tape and he played the body hard
Corvo makes me **** my pants every time he is on the ice
So much depends on the team in front of him. He can be clutch, but the key will be blocking shots, clearing the crease, and allowing him to see the shots. Oh, and keeping as much of the action at the other end of the ice as they can.
I say he can repeat, but the others have to repeat as well.
