I haven't really liked Green Day since the 90s. Warning was the last album of theirs that I really listened to (that was 2000).

All they had to do was record the songs (37 of them) February through June. They didn't rush at all. They kinda of took their time. They're so talented they don't take that long to make a song.

I heard a new Green Day song when I was in line getting a sub, and honestly, I thought it could have been Hedley or Simple Plan at first. It's like just when you think Green Day can't get any lower these days, they find a way. And I'm not all that surprised, either.

These albums seem like they will be a lot more fun than 21st Century Breakdown. I was definitely not too fond of that one.

I was a old Green Day fan can't get into there new stuff. 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, Kerplunk, and Dookie were great albums and Nimrod and Insomniac were decent, i won't listen to anything else by them.

I don't mind their new stuff (Uno! songs. Not 21st century cashgrab) they're the band that took me away from rap and got me into rock so I'll always have a soft spot for them.

They had a pretty awesome performance at the VMAs

No, that does not happen. There isn't a single artist on this planet who could record 37 songs through 5 months and not "rush" it. But if they're going to go ahead and make inane noise that all sounds the same, then sure, yeah.

There's a distinct difference between writing 37 songs over the course of two years and then recording in 5 months and actually writing and recording 37 songs in 5 months.

Unlike popular opinion these days, I really liked American Idiot. 21st Century Breakdown, not so much. Also, these three albums will be drawing influences from each band member. 1 album per member. The first two songs are pretty disappointing, Let Yourself Go would be good...if it wasn't a blatant rehash of Maria.

Wiki says Dookie has sold 16M and Bieber has 15M as of May. Did Green Day ever get money from a movie, a perfume, 8000 interviews, etc?

And, not that I like Green Day, but Alice In Chains wrote and recorded Jar of Flies (7 songs) in a week. It can be done sometimes by good bands. Peter Steele is said to have written Type O Negative's first album in one day (while drunk).

That song that I keep hearing on the radio is one of the worst songs I've heard in a long time. It must be pretty embarrassing for them.

Where the chorus is like "Oh love" or something like that?

Yeah, I'd rather sit in silence than hear that song and change the station to anything other than the one playing it. Actually walked out of a deli one time while in line when I heard it, and went to the place next door for lunch.

And yet I still like it better than 21 Guns. It's the last track on the album which makes it somewhat tolerable as a companion piece. The other released tracks so far are pretty decent.

Writing a song can take just as long as a couple of hours to over a month depending on its complexity and lenght, it has nothing to do with talent. It all depends on the idea that the songwriter has or what he/she wants to create....

I feel bad for Green Day, i would love to see my fav band realese 3 albums but everyone here is like; "****, not 3 albums, noooooooooooo"

bit dramatic don't you think? I don't leave parties or clubs if they play dubstep, justin Bieber, or onedirection.

You're not the only one who thinks so--it's getting very little airplay compared to 21 Guns or Know Your Enemy.

That's because AiC is one of the greatest bands of all-time.... Billy Joe can't hold a handle to Layne Staley, Tre Cool isnt half the drummer Sean Kinney is and Jerry Cantrell is an amazing guitarist, so much better then Billy Joe, and Mike Inez/Starr >>> Mike Dirnt.

Green Day used to be one of my favorite bands until they started shoving their stupid left wing garbage political ideologies in their overrated music.

Agreed. Which makes the new songs refreshing to hear.
