I would say after the flyer's first goal that is how they played... but certainly in the OT... they were just all standing there... they didn't know how to stop the orange avalanche.

Jakub Voracek's OT winner caps Flyers' rally in Game 1

PITTSBURGH -- Jakub Voracek beat Marc-Andre Fleury from in close 2:23 into overtime to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night in Game 1 of an Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Fleury stopped Matt Read's shot from the corner, but Voracek pounced on the rebound to cap a furious rally from a 3-0 deficit. Daniel Briere scored twice, and Brayden Schenn added a goal in his playoff debut. Ilya Brzygalov settled down after a shaky start to finish with 25 saves.

Sidney Crosby, Tyler Kennedy and Pascal Dupuis scored for the Penguins, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 22 shots, but Pittsburgh struggled after dominating the first period.

Game 2 is Friday night in Pittsburgh.

The rivals delivered on their promise to play "whistle to whistle" and leave out the rough stuff that highlighted their six regular-season meetings. The game featured only a handful of penalties and little of the typical animosity.

Crosby missed the playoffs last season while dealing with concussion-like symptoms and the memory of watching from the rafters as the Penguins lost to Tampa Bay in seven games remains fresh.

The former MVP wasted little time making up for lost time. He gave Pittsburgh the lead on his second shift, shaking off a hit Philadelphia defenseman Braydon Coburn in the corner then bouncing to his feet and flipping a rebound over Bryzgalov's glove 3:43 into the first period.

Congrats guys(Sabre/Duck fan). Ain't gonna lie, I'm no Flyer fan, but I absolutely hate the Pens. Good on for Danny B. Keep it goin! Even better that it was a comeback.

watch how flat footed they are the entire sequence on the 2nd Briere goal and the OT game winner ... watch the pathetic attempt to play the puck by Staal as Voracek side-steps him for-the-win

That team feels entitled, they feel like they are better just by showing up ... they are arrogant and they met a team that will take their candy every single time ... the thing is once the switch is off you can't just turn it on all of the sudden ... and that switch was definitely off for them

The Flyers need to capitalize and jump on this team in Game 2 ... take their hearts, punch them in the mouth and they will fold

That said, it's the 4th time this year the Flyers erased a 2-0 deficit, this time being 3 goals, and now any time they have a lead, they might convince themselves they can hold a lead, but deep down they'll think they can't.

I noticed that as well, you would think for one of the better defensive minded forwards he would have at least attempted to defend that. The entire Pens team just stood there and had zero reaction to it going in.

Carle was in the right corner looking for the puck and went all the way across the ice to pick up the puck take it wide, get it on net for yet another first assist on a Playoff OT GWG. We have to get rid of that guy as soon as possible.

So have we mentioned how great we looked on faceoffs today? At least, compared to usual. I'm not used to us doing well on that part of the game. But I think we won all of them in overtime..

Did you hear when Emrick said "Eddie Olczyk took the Cup to get a picture with a horse"? My blood pressure zoomed. That horse netted me $400.

I still stick by my opinion that the hockey "experts" on tv can't seem to understand. In the games I've watched of theirs recently, Fleury has not been strong the past few weeks and coverage-wise Pittsburgh's D is very suspect. I can only imagine the score if we would actually show up in a 1st period every once and really took it to them!

Really we have the weakness of Matt Carle's wristshot to thank for winning; all the Pens became very very sleepy watching it wriggle its way through like a snake to another awaiting Snake.

I saw that on the pregame on TSN. That's pretty low. And it was, IIRC, "LaviLOLette".
