Haha, all makes sense now.

I'm still stuck down at home, so I ride it everyday.

Why in the hell does the United Center not offer tours of the arena? We met so many tourists outside the building taking pictures of the statues who were all upset about the lack of an arena tour.

It runs on the same tracks for a bit, but that goes to Indiana. This goes straight south all the way to University Park.

The South Shore is awesome, especially once you get to Michigan City and you are in a massive commuter train riding down residential streets.

Observations from day 1 in Chicago...

1 - O'hare is bloody massive
2 - Almost every single cta fare machine was out order at O'hare 3 - was not informed that the blue line ride from the airport would take an hour
4 - union station is beautiful
5 - why no bloody tour of the United center?
6 - the blue and red line have a mile long subway platform that makes 3 stops?
7 - why does the green line go so long before making a stop at 35th after leaving the loop?
8 - the comiskey dog is good... A nyc hot dog with nothing on it is the same price..
9 - the fans at comiskey park seem to spend more time in the concourses buying food than watching the game....

If you want a real Chicago Italian beef find your way to Mr. Beefs on Harlem and Irving. Make sure you get hot giardiniera and sweet peppers on the side. Fries are also good and plenty.

Oh and their pizza is pretty good too.

Yeah, they are pretty damn good. Also my neck of the woods too (I'm at Harlem and Higgins).

Havent been there since HS.

Better to dive. Rent a car next visit. If you do, pick a hotel near the city without parking fees. Most hotels downtown and by the airport charge daily parking fees.

So a Bruins season ticket holder (me) and my girlfriend are moving to Chicago next month. We are going to be living in River North -

Where are a few good places to watch games? I am going to die a Bruins fan but having a home town (Western Conference) team to cheer for (and to go see at United) is a nice perk to have... plus I guess the Hawks are an alright hockey team... haha.

I am familiar with the neighborhoods but we will not own a car (which is why we are living downtown) so it will have to be on transit.

Thanks everyone and happy to be moving to such a great city, though I will miss living downtown in Boston - Chicago would be my second choice every day of the week.

Hey guys, Bruins fan from Boston visiting your fine city for the third time this weekend (long weekend! Thurs - Mon). Would appreciate any recommendations, so far my Thursday and Sunday are wide open. Staying at Ashland and Augusta and excited to do some exploring. Bringing the boyfriend for his first trip to Chicago, so would appreciate pizza & dog insight.

I haven't had Malnati's but didn't love Pequod's...

Sorry I saw this late, hope your visit was good.

I loved my visit to Boston for game 4. What a great town, loved my cannoli at Mike's Pastry Shop. Everyone was hospitable and friendly. There was mutual respect amongst the fans, totally awesome.
