Comeau will definitley take a pay cut because for one he is not worth the 2.5 million, nor will the flames pay him that much. He didn't pay bad though for us this year, I like what I saw and hope he is kept around for next year.
Comeau went through a few short stretches were he looked dominate.I thought he'd build off last season.
A good guy in the lockerroom.I can still root for him since he's in the west.

Licking my chops with that 2013 1s [/B]
So we push out our rebuild another year for a 2nd round pick this year , Gagner who is small and a 2nd / 3rd line tweener ( we have that with Nielsen) and an unknown 1st round pick another year a way? No Thanks - Lets try and raise the bar a little if we are going to trade that pick or just take a quality prospect at #4 this year :Think shakehead

Reason: Correcting sentence
Assuming both Forsberg and Gally are on board at #4.
To Isles: Schenn, Komisarek, Kadri, the 35th overall.
To Leafs: 4th overall.
This gives Leafs a chance to draft 2/3 of a top line while Isles pick up a good winger prospect and 2 stay at home defensemen. Gunnarsson can be substituted for Schenn if Isles want some back end mobility.

Dear God in Heaven,
Make opposing fans realize that Snow is not trading his 4th overall pick for their crap or spare parts.
I'm guessing it would depend on whether Snow felt his guy, would still be available at #6.
I'm not as keen to trade up or down,as other NYI fans.I'd be happy seeing the isles stay at 4 and take one of Murray/Dumba/Galchenyuk.

I think Snow will stay put if Murray drops, but assuming Murray goes before then why not trade back to 6th, acquire an asset, and still pick Dumba? You would likely get to pick any defenseman not named Murray, or Forsberg could still be available if Toronto picks a defenseman.
I don't know how many times it's been pointed out that Snow passed on drafting Schenn, questioning his offensive upside.Schenn's skating issues, struggles on the ice and $3m salary have not raised his value for the NYI.
Komi's been a $4.5m, 3rd pairing dman for the last 1-2 seasons.
and Kadri holds little appeal because the isles have their own unproven forward prospects.

Did you even read his post? I'm pretty sure he knows this.

I would rather see the isles get the available prospect, who's at the top of their board, then wait and hope 2 teams below them don't take the isles choice.
Dion Phaneuf, Jake Gardiner, Luke Schenn, Colby Armstrong for Andrew MacDonald, Mark Streit, Kyle Okposo, 4th Overall.
Problem Solved.
(Some) Toronto fans might argue the trade isn't fair. I mean, how could they give up a #1 defenseman, the best rookie defenseman in the last 10 years, and a young top 4 shutdown defenseman in the same package.

Fair enough.
Just FYI, the Ducks would most likely only trade up if Galy is available.
At some point the Islanders will have to make a choice.
Either:
A) Bring in veterans to help out the young squad to start building for contention in the next two years.
B) Continue to perpetually pick in the top 10 in the hopes the team becomes a contender.
The only way the Islanders get a player of value is if a team that is laden with veterans (i.e. Calgary) wants to do a full out rebuild and has the veteran assets to trade an Iginla, Kipper, etc. for the 4th overall pick.
A team like Philadelphia MAY trade JvR who is a young player on a pretty decent albeit yet deserved longer-term contract. However, Philadelphia will want another young roster player coming back as they are not rebuilding and a team that is rebuilding will not trade any of their most recent young drafted players to either move up or trade for the 4th overall pick.
At some point the Islanders will have to figure out what direction the team needs to go because so far Snow has only shown to keep drafting players at the selected position, or trade down for extra draft picks. He has yet shown to trade the first round pick out right, and the chances of this happening are most likely zero.
