Guys, every year before the playoffs, I observe a moment to remember Ceil Saidel who was a Rangers fan who was brutally murdered before she got a chance to see the Rangers win the Cup in 1994. It's important to remember and is one more reason to win.

Same here, can't ever forget that. Gravy always comes to mind mentioning it the night they won the cup. Class act forever.

For those who don't know...

"CEIL SAIDEL: She was never alone. Ranger fans were her nieces and nephews, her grandchildren. Ceil would sit at the Ranger Fan Club meetings and knit a sweater, a shawl, booties, for one of these nieces or nephews or grandchildren. Ceil never seemed elderly; the Rangers kept her young. She sat in Section 230, Row A, Seat 12 just about every home game since the present Garden was built in 1968. The Rangers kept a smile on her face, even when the smile merely was one of hope that next year, they wouldn't be as bad that next year would be their year.

One day during the 1994 playoffs, she was brutally killed in her Bronx apartment as she prepared to leave for the game that night. When the Rangers got their rings a few weeks later, Ceil got her halo."

LETS GO RANGERS!!!

The last image MSG showed the night the Rangers won the Stanley Cup was a picture of her empty seat (where someone had placed flowers).

Was it a robbery gone bad? This is the first time i've heard about this story. Just senseless to do something like that.

Ottawa hasn't really been disrespectful a bit cocky sure but that's what you need to be in sports. It sure can get annoying if you're an opposing fan though. Makes for a good series, every check on Karlsson will put a smile on my face.

The Rangers have a top 4 on D that can shut down their top 2 lines, and the offensive depth to overpower their weak defense which has the most GA out of all playoff teams. Attention to detail on the defensive side, and the occasional bail out save from Lundqvist will allow the Rangers to progress. Lundqvist for sure will have to be on his game.

MSG has exclusive rights in the NY area. If anything, it will be blacked out on NHLN.
