He is a stand up guy, but you forget one major thing that is required to play in the NHL, that is to be actually capable of playing in the NHL. Jody Shelley does not possess those skills anymore(if he really ever did). He is 36 years old, will be 37 next year. It is time for him to hang them up and take a position with the organization in which Cote, Betts, and Lappy have done, or leave for some other organization. Great guy, just not a NHLer anymore. What else needs to be said?
Flyers also have a good leadership group also. Not saying he won't be missed but they can find other players to take his role in the locker room
