If Backstrom is suspended for that, after what has gone on in this playoffs, I will start sacrificing chickens and perform dances to the gods to get Shanahan fired and publicly humiliated in stocks.
Looking forward to seeing Kevin Dineen make some history tonight, to bad the Sabres didn't keep him in the organization.. Gotta love Nashville as well, Barry Trotz is one damn good head coach.

How bad would the league **** it's pants if it was a Nashville-Florida finals? That would have worse ratings than... I don't know. Something with really really low ratings

Nashville actually isn't as bad because the local following there is actually quite decent. And at least it's in the Eastern time zone.

Phoenix-Florida on the other hand...
The fanbase down here is very solid, not many bandwagoners from what I've encountered in my short time here, and the fans know their stuff. We're in central time zone tho, just west of the division line.
i went to the Sabres game in nashville this year... i have to say, their fan base is incredible given the market/demographics/etc
"Smashville" is way better then "We Live Hockey", or "Hockey Heaven"...

Nashville is the Southern expansion success story.
It's amazing what having a quality team that can consistently make the playoffs does for a fanbase. Nobody will show up to see a sucky team (see: Atlanta, Florida, Phoenix).

Florida (Miami) does struggle at the box office but there are many snow bird hockey fans down there. Missing the playoffs for over a decade is enough to ruin most post expansion teams (after the big 12).
There’s no reason Florida can’t be another Tampa if they keep winning; Nashville is the team to watch, I hope they do well simply because of Trotz… the dude is a great head coach and the organization overall is well run.
