Any other Sens fans in Vancouver?

Hey, I'm a Sens fans living in Vancouver. Are there any other Sens fans out here? Let's meet up and put some red jerseys into some of the local pubs!

Where the HELL were you 6 years ago, when I lived in Burnaby?!? I had to watch the Sens beat the Leafs in the first ever shootout, all by myself at the Foggy Dew pub near Lougheed Town Center. Could have used some backup, hearing it from Canucks fans on a daily basis...

That was a lonely couple of years, being a Sens fan in Vancouver, I tell ya.

ps: White Spot is frigging terrible. And Cactus Club.

pps: the best Red Robin EVER is at Lougheed Town Center. All other Red Robins blow chunks, but that particular location is like some oasis in the desert of burger joints in Burquitlam.

Good god, yes.

It seems like Vancouver has some really good restaurants, and some terrible restaurants that try to push their awful attempts at "fusion" by trying to out-hipster each other.

Cactus Club falls into the latter category.

There's one in Calgary too.

My family will always say. "Oh let's go to cactus club for lunch" and I am just like

Cactus Club has three things they do pretty well.

One, they have a decent lounge atmosphere with a trendy combination of dark wood, soft lighting and appropriate music.

Two, they hire beautiful women.

Three, they hire beautiful women.

Lets be honest, it ain't fine dining, but the beer is cold and the girls are cute. What's not to like?

My problem: There are places that do cold beer and cute girls, but also manage to serve good food, for a cheaper price.

And by not going to the Cactus Club (or, at least, the Cactus Clubs I've been to: locations may vary) you don't have to hear the table on your right having a conversation about how they don't like their Volvo XC90 because their friend just got a Lexus GX and IT'S SO MUCH BETTER, and the table on your left talking for an entire hour about their $300 day with their shih tsu at the doggie spa and how much dogs are like people.

Obviously, personal experiences may differ. My numerous experiences sucked. You may have a MUCH better Cactus Club near where you live, in which case, the restaurant gods are looking over your shoulder and smiling, my friend.

I wish I was in Vancouver 6 years ago instead of being in Waterloo a.k.a. a suburb of Leafs territory.

No, no, I submit to your description... Made me laugh out loud. Ours, however, is filled with airheads from university... Less dogs and cars, more dudes and bars...

Another reason to boycott Cactus Club is the fact that they opened one right on English Bay, obstructing the beautiful view of the beach and the waterfront.

What was City Hall thinking, allowing that to happen? Oh wait, I know: $$$

Hey, I'm living in Germany on exchange for this year, but will be back in August. I live in North Van, so we could once in a while meet up for games.

I must say, and no disrespect mean to the OP, I'd be very cautious about meeting up with someone who has 2 posts total!

But on the other hand Sens fans should be uniting at this time, and if I was alone in Van city I'd probably be asking too.

I live in North Van now and was wearing my jersey downtown yesterday. It has to be the only Hossa Sens jersey in the Vancouver area, so if you've seen it...

Speaking of the Foggy Dew, the manager there pulled a real BS move on me and my friends a few years ago during a Sens playoff game against the Sabres and I refused to ever go back there. He forced us to leave our table as we were finishing our meals, right in the middle of the game, because he wanted that section to be given to another group. Our options were to stand with our drinks to watch the game or leave. Jerks.

hmmm, I should make the 2 hour drive up from Seattle. Then I could actually see a hockey game in a bar, with people who know what hockey is, instead of regular season baseball or basketball haha

re: "I must say, and no disrespect mean to the OP, I'd be very cautious about meeting up with someone who has 2 posts total!" This is a fair point and I take no disrespect from it. I am not a regular poster to any messaging boards. I signed up solely for the purpose of finding other sens fans in the city because if you try to google "Senators fans in Vancouver" and you won't come up with much. Everyone should always be cautious as to who they meet online.

I'm still new to the city so I don't know the best places to catch a Sens game. So far I've just been going to Malhony and Sons on UBC's campus but that is just because it is near my work and it leaves much to be desired. I almost wish it was a Cactus Club instead. Suggestions?

If it is post count that you are worried about then hopefully my word counts for something. e4hill is my brother.

He's a student and Sens fan recently moved to Vancouver. Nice guy. I like him anyway. Although I do remember him giving his support to the Cunucks about a year ago... take from that what you will.

Not that you should trust me either. I have a better post count, but I once got an infraction for calling somebody annoying.

I'd rather live in Vancouver and cheer part time for the Canucks than live in Toronto and be in leafs territory !!! Rivalries aside, it is easier to simultaneously cheer for a team from each of the two conferences than two teams from the same division. Hehehe, I'll be wearing my Sens jersey with pride today what with the Canucks being down 0-3 against LA !

I suspect the Sens will be picking up a lot of fans in Vancouver shortly. Like, as early as Wednesday night.

Im in Victoria. Best place we have here is the Shark Club - good food, cold beer and very scantily-clad well-endowed serving girls.

I lived in Victoria for the last three years before heading out to Vancouver. Last year at least it was easier to join the Canucks bandwagon during the post-season. Ya, the Canucks fans aren't too happy this year.
