Ok yeah.. tell me one good thing Stalberg did. I'll wait patiently.
aside form turning the puck over everywhere and losing physical battles all over the ice.
He had several good carries in to the offensive zone. A few nice shots on Smith. A nice shot off the glove hand of Smith off of a face off. Nice back check in 1st period on Coyote rush. Nice pass to Sharp for a shank.
Did the best on board battles of anyone on that line He did turnover the puck several times in the offensive zone. Including one with a guy with no stick!!! Not his best game for certainly not the worst guy on the line.
so we still have a second line center who sucks offensively and can't win faceoffs?

Kruger's much better on the dot than Kane and he's better offensively than Stalberg. Being able to blow past the defenders isn't going to work against a team that sits back like Phoenix.. rendering Stalberg, almost, completely useless.
The whole second line was bad, wasn't on any one of them.
Would not be shocked if we have Stalberg Toews Kane and Sharp Kruger Hossa next game.
This thread should also be locked before it breaks we are way over 1000 posts.
No mods are up. lol.
I think all of us did not like the Toews, Hossa, Kane line that was practicing. I would prefer Kane as the 2nd line center. Thank god he came back or this team would be screwed.

much better? It was like a 2% difference on the year and Kane has something oft referred to as "talent". I'd rather lose 1 more draw out of 50 and have a guy who can play past the red line. Call me crazy.

Ok - you just lost any credibility to your argument with that statement. You have obviously gone off the deep end.

Of course Stalberg carried the puck into the zone alot.. that's what he does, hold onto the puck too long and constantly try to blow by defenders.. that doesn't mean him carrying the puck in was good. The most notible rush that line had was with Kruger carrying the puck in, in OT, dishing the puck to Stalberg, then drive to the net giving Stalberg all kinds of space to get a shot off.
Kruger also has numerous backchecks, including preventing a break-away after a horrible change by the Hawks defense and Kruger actually cycled the puck effectively.

Why do you think I care? Most of this board has no idea how you're supposed to play hockey.. which is why Kruger can be made the goat on the icing call.

What was Kane's FO% down the stretch? What was Kruger's? Kruger is much better at the dot.
If you want a guy that can play past the redline, than take Stalberg out of your top-6. You're crazy.
It was a team loss. You guys are trying to single out players and put the blame squarely on their shoulders. It was a team loss. There was a lot of bad play from a lot of different Hawks tonight!
I would love to see Kane with Hossa again. I loved their chemistry together this year and I think they should be back together.
