I really like Sutter. He does not look at "matchups" as much as many coaches do. If he wants Kopitar's line out there, he'll ice them, Doesn't matter if it's against Pahlsson, Sedin, or Kesler. He trusts his players very much, also probably the reason he doesn't call timeouts often.
I got some heat at the time for saying it but what everyone likes about DS is the fact that he coaches his team before during and after a game.
With TM he just sent his players out on the ice and "let them be accountable". He NEVER out coached a single team. He had success and was a good teacher as long as it wasn't during a game.
DS asks his players to be accountable and then holds HIMSELF accountable for guiding them through whatever it takes to succeed. Sure he will call a player or two out at times but that too is part of the process. Especially when he calls himself out too.
Sure is nice to have someone at the helm who at least is constantly working with the team to win the game.

MR is doing exactly what he is known to do and that is be one of the best playoff gamers there is. Great trade for us. Carter was too.
I said it before and I will say it again, if Penner can get three more game winners I will never ever say another disparaging word about him as long as I live and will always contend that he was worth the money and a good trade for us.
First, I'm happy for Penner. Dont care how much you make playing a game. He was going through some stuff, obviously. This guy obviously plays better when things are good and he's confident.
What's great on a game level is when Penner is strong, it opens things up for the other lines. I think we'll see this come into play.

So proud to sport my Kings gear all day (always am, but today was... you know, even better ). I had a lunch meeting that I had to get dressed up for and was so happy it was cold enough to sport my Kings scarf. Even got a high five from a random fellow fan at the grocery store.

Someone is either gonna knee-on-knee him or head shot him. Who cares if they get a 2 game suspension? If you can knock out a one man wrecking ball for a series, whats a suspension to a 3rd or 4th liner?

Great win by the kings. Mike richards was amazing!! All the diving and whining makes the canucks hated!! it's self-inflicted. Lets win game 2!! an upset could be on the cards, and lets face it, everyone loves an underdog!!
Just remembered the Luongo flop in the first period. He got wacked with someone's stick int he chest protector.. nothing hard. He then proceeds to throw himself into the back of the net like he just took a bullet to the chest.
As a Canucks fan, this was embarassing. I typically disagree with the many fans from other teams which claim the Canucks are cheap. I don't think they are typically any more cheap than other teams. But the embelishments from Kesler and Luongo do nothing to help me support my case. Nor does Bitz's cheap shot for that matter. At least he was punished accordingly.
The Kings most certainly deserved to win game 1.
I'm hoping to see a much more focused Canucks squad for game 2. We'd be in a pretty bad position if we go to LA down 2 games.
